130 ish calories in a day from exercise is really good. 1/2 hour of cardio expends all the bodies readily available stored energy so it is forced to replenish itself from the body (Fat). It also upps your metabolism so you are burning more even after the work out is complete.

Don’t get too caught up in the numbers. Yeah it is a 3500 calorie deficit to lose 1 pound, but exercise combined with a calorie deficit diet will result in timely weight loss. That is ~1-2 pounds of fat a week.

Exercise is not only for the weight loss, you will tone and you will have greater endurance and just be all around healthier. The fat loss is just gravy.

I did it!!!! I finally lost weight. (happy dance) I lost two pounds in a week. With how I have been eating, I should have lost more, but I'll take the two pounds.

The meal plan I put up is called Cooler 1. The other is Cooler 2 and includes dairy, more variance on the veggies and other stuff. Im following this strict regimin because due to the hypothyroidism and pcos Im having one heck of a time getting the scale to move.

My endeo follow up was cancelled from 1/27 to March 3rd.

I have lost a few more pounds. I'm down to 162. I've lost 61 pounds. 9 more until I hit my goal weight. I suspect when I hit my goal I may want to adjust it downwards and go a bit further as I still feel a fair amount of flab in my arms, ribs and belly, and I know some of the weight is going to come off my hips and legs.

Keep going people! You can do it!

Normally, I do an "official" weigh in on Monday and a preliminary on Friday. Well, today I got this crazy idea and weighed myself. Im three pounds down from Monday!!! (Major happy dance).

Ive changed from Cooler 1 to Cooler 2 which is less restrictive. Still, Im staying away from the bread type stuff and going easy on the dairy (to rough points even if Im eating well).

I really, really love home made turkey burgers, tho, and am kind of craving them right now as I would chocolate pudding (which somehow doesn't have the same hold on me). I'll make them tomorrow morning for the kids and my lunches.

The only trouble Im having is taking enough food to work. I under do it and don't realise it until I arrive at work and see that I have enough for what amounts to a snack.

It sounds like eveyone is having a successful time losing weight.

My friend bought this pilates machine off hsn (or is it hns...one of the shopping channels) and says it has done wonders for her. She said she is liking her butt . I need to win the lottery because I want a wii fit with daisy fuentes pilates and now this machine .

It's weigh in Tuesday! I check in each week, but I am NOT losing!! In fact, I'm up 2 pounds this week.

I sometimes feel like I can't get full....my mom's saying is that I feel like I have a "tapeworm." Anyway, this is one of those days. Guess I'll go fill up my water glass again......

Good luck to everyone this week!

174.6 lbs./38% fat. Some of my more stylish jeans fit last Thursday, but were very painful to wear all workday yesterday. I don't know what is up w/my weight. If I weigh daily, then one day the scale says I'm obese @39% fat, the next I'm down a lb & @37% and @higher end of normal fat % range.

I wouldn't have weighed today, except Maya (my personal trainer on the Xbox360), made me do Fitness Challenge today. I lost 3 pushups since 10 exercises ago. I went ahead & did a 30-min exercise w/her after the challenge (main focus: weight loss; minor focus: core muscles - my abs will be cussing me tomorrow when they realize what I did today).

Good news really. Dropped another pound at the official weigh in on Tuesday. 72 pounds down

Legs, chest, shoulders and arms are gaining definition from my workouts. Legs especially.

I also will be shopping for pants this weekend since it appears I have dropped another size. Thats a 44 inch waist down to a 34.

Everybody is doing so great!

I'm just a bit discouraged.

It's been four weeks and I'm down only a total of 6 lbs. Seem kinda stuck.

Gym - 6 days a week, cardio and pretty intensive weight training

Diet - low carbs (and only certain ones at that) and lean protein. I'm doing pretty good at that. Meals are really good but will occassionally sneak *A* piece of chocolate (as in ONE square of herseys) or something like that. I am allowed a "free day" each week which really helps with the temptation. But I don't even really blow it out on the free day - find my digestive tract can't handle it now.

I just wish I was seeing more weight going off on the scales. I don't really even feel it in my clothes yet (some in the waistline). Some areas (thighs, for example) even feel tighter and I know it is probably because of the muscle being built up.

Still...

I have seen a couple mentions of P90X. We bought it and started on Wednesday (2/10). Can't wait for the 90 days. Ibuprofin is my friend.

Yesterday's weigh-in:

175.8 lbs/38% fat

Still trying to exercise most days though....completely crashed last night, so didn't exercise.

Monday: Rode bike 1 hr (~430 calories/9.x miles); Wednesday: 30 min w/YourSelf Fitness! on Xbox360 (major focus: weight loss; minor focus: lower body)

I really think my issue is @home eating habits. For breakfast: Carnation Instant Breakfast w/skim milk, for lunch Michelina's LeanGourmet Buffalo-style chicken snack rolls (about 285 calories) - basically have same breakfast/lunch on work days. I eat the same dinner as rest of family, but try to eat smaller portions (only 1 bread, only one meat, big helping of veggies).

My mom thinks my body is trying to hybernate (store fat). Anybody seen any evidence in writing about that phenomenon? I feel so hungry sometimes & it's been frigidly cold here for our area the past 3 months. Usually Dec/Jan/Feb are rain-rain-rain, this winter it's been temps in the teens & some mild snow & ice (majorly cold though & windy).

Rpbs… slow down, this isn’t a race. I know, you want hard work to be rewarded immediately, but proper weight loss takes time.

Your body will only create fat should you eat more calories than you burn. There isn’t a mechanism to store fat as a response to cold.

All forms of body fat measurement are estimations and can be heavily influenced by many factors. Take what you see with a grain of salt.

Your body weight can fluctuate by an average of 3 pounds in a day from food and water intake, so you are looking at weight loss trend over many weeks.

My wife’s friend has lost 2 dress sizes in the last 3 months, but has only lost 5 pounds on the scale. Her work out has caused muscle gain and muscle weighs more than its equivalent volume of fat. So the scale doesn’t always tell you everything.

I was up 0.8 pounds this week, but I went absolutely nuts at the gym this week and its shows. Even though I am up 0.8 pounds, I lost another ½ inch from my gut.

My wife was up 3 pounds. She ate better than me, did more cardio than me, but still ended up heavier. She has also hit her time of the month, so the additional weight was likely water retention.

I posted last week about my frustrations - especially since I had really been sticking to the plan.

However, my trainer suggested that I actually ADD more fat to my diet and that started me doing some research.

I found the following link regarding metabolic typing and how to create a shift in how your body uses fuel.

I knew I had been carb heavy in the past - and was still relying on them now (except just what I considered the "good" carbs). I took the metabolic test online (there's a link) and found that I was a protein type. So this week I have almost completely cut all my carbs. I take in less than 20g a day. (This is only for a week or two and is designed to create that shift in your body. You will later begin to add them back slowly to find out how many your body requires.)

I have lost 3 pounds in five days.

Yes...I know it alot of water. That's to be expected. But I've also been able to greatly increase my intake of water because I am now so thirsty. I have probably averaged around 90 ounces this week - and with no problems drinking it. I don't forget like I use to - I CAN'T!

The other thing is I am already feeling *tremendously* better. My energy....no more afternoon naps. That alone is wonderful!

It was hard the first few days - REALLY hard. The sweet craving was INTENSE (and I'm not usually one to necessarily eat sweets - just love the breads, pasta, etc.) But that is already starting to go away..it's becoming noticeably easier and my body is not crying out for it.

Plus I now get to have things like cheese and organic butter - even mayonaise - of course, in moderation. I'm so glad to have the whole egg back!

The website has alot of really good info...worth the read. I never bought into the Adkin's diet but when you read this website (not adkins) it really gives some sound reasoning why a metabolic shift can be a good consideration if you are feeling stuck.

I'm not trying to rush, I'm trying to get back to where I was a few months ago.

What's really frustrating is that I lost 35 lbs. in about 1 year (losing the first 20 lbs made a huge difference in my health). I maintained the weight fairly well through the summer & then BAMMMM. When Thanksgiving came, I gained 5 lbs back (putting me around 175+, depending on the day). Now, I cannot seem to keep under 175.

I had dropped from 18WP jeans to being able to wear 12P (and some 13 short & even one nice pair of olive 11 capris). I had bought 2 pair of 10P, thinking maybe I might squeeze into them. BUT, unfortunately, my waistline just refuses to even barely fit into my 13s some days & the 12s are basically where I'm stuck.

I did like the fact that most of my post-baby roll has shrunk quite well, but still some stubborn wiggle left (think some may be skin though). The thighs don't look too badly (would like a more muscular large thigh) & the caboose lost all it's cellulite dimples.

The newer clothes I'd bought just fit much better when I'm closer to 170. I wouldn't mind being 165-170 lbs.

I did notice that the heaviness/fullness in my cleavage decreased once I lost the 30/35 lbs, but I seem to still fit into the same cups, just had to inch the hooks in a row. They just aren't as solid as b4.

The fluctuations weekly are what's killing me. Some days my clothes fit nice & some days, I'm feeling crushed.

I want to find an easy way to stay fit w/out killing myself daily (prefer only working out about 4-5 days/week) & not having to eat rabbit food to stay below 175. My cats look rather sleek, maybe some Whiskas in my diet would help.
