Has anyone tryed the slim in 6 videos. I like the standing krunches. I just don't know anyone that has used it. I have trouble with exercises that I have to lie on the floor and raise my head.

(((((Jessica))))) BTDT...use it to push you to your goal!

Great job Jai! I pushed extra hard yesterday too. I was at the gym for THREE hours. I did an aqua aerobics class, 15 min on the stairmaster and then I did Zumba, with my sauna/steamroom time after. I felt amazing when I left. And I have my gym bag with me to go again after work, even though I usually skip Fridays...but I have to make that damn dress fit!

I don't know anything about those videos, lifesabeach. Hopefully someone else might know...or may have some pointers.

Happy Friday yall!

I'm not sure why I thought it was a good idea to try and lose weight and be healthier at the same time as trying to deal with the aftermath of the infidelity... but here I am.

I actually started a 12 week medically supervised diet back in October. I've lost 38 lbs in the 12 weeks... It is very, very restrictive, and depending on my mood that day, it can be very difficult to be motivated.

But... I just signed up to do another 12 weeks. I'm hoping that the anger stage comes back because those days were the easiest to be motivated and want to do this!

I currently weigh less than I have in probably about 5 years... I would still like to lose another 90 lbs.

I wasn't so great this weekend! Saturday morning I couldn't make it to the gym, so I just went rollerblading for 20 minutes. Other than that, zero exercise. My food intake wasn't all that great either since I had my friend's bridal shower Saturday during the day...and a date Saturday night. Ugh! Sunday wasn't too bad.

Back on track today...gym bag in the car to go after class tonight. I'm having a tough time staying motivated at the gym if I don't make it to a step or zumba class. I was looking in to joining a bootcamp but I went to check out a "women's only" bootcamp last night which I was able to watch a class for and it was AMAZING...buttttt it's either a 6 month contract at $185 p/mo...or a 1 year contract at $155 p/mo. Yeah, don't have money to throw at that right now.

Any tips on staying motivated? I do the iPod thing, but I just get so damn bored on the treadmill or stairmaster. I need a workout buddy, but all my friends go to another gym. Boo.

Jessy, I hear you on staying motivated. I do have a workout buddy and she's great, but she doesn't kick my ass. If I say "I can't make Zumba tomorrow" she just says "okay" not "and why the hell not?" I need someone I am afraid of to work out with me!

Maybe you and your friends can still check in with each other - e.g. have each other's schedules and check in daily? You're still accountable to them even if you're not with them. It's not the perfect solution, but it may help a little. Or maybe there's a formal or informal group at your gym? Maybe you could start one by posting on a bulletin board or in the women's locker room or just by chatting it up with the people in your class?

I'm having trouble staying motivated too. The scale is my primary motivator. That and the fact that it was hard to button the jeans that are a size bigger than what I wore three months ago...

There's another suggestion - wear jeans that are too tight for a day if you feel yourself slipping. I guarantee all morning in these puppies I've been thinking "I have to go to the gym for Zumba tonight!" Constricted abdominal organs and unsightly muffin top - the great motivator!!

Jessy ~
Keep that dress hanging up in front of you. I struggle with motivation too but once I step on that scale, I'm motivated
I like this idea

hey there!

I am doing well: lost 4 lbs since we last spoke.

I started a "The Woman Doctor's Diet for Women" circa 1977!

The gist: start off with eating no carbs, eat her menu only for 2 weeks, start adding food back in, etc.
But it had a couple extras; a plan for every 2 weeks until you lose the weight and a plan for maintenance, and what to do for when you regain, etc.

Cool book and i can drink coffee on this one

Also have to walk 20 mins at 3mph every day (so I do this on my off days for when I dont run, and walk the rest of teh 20 mins that I dont run on my running days.)

So far so good. Those 4 lbs were in teh last two days.

Way to go BR!! 4 pounds in 2 days I may have to see if the library has that book.

I am down about 4 pounds total (over the past three weeks). I'd like to lose another 6-8 pounds. I like to eat though. A lot. And I've found I am a little bummed lately given some personal stuff going on and the time of year too - the grey slushy crap really gets to me - and I tend to eat when I am down. So all weight loss is from trying to be a lot more active rather than eating better. I should try to incorporate healthier food choices into my diet and maybe I'd make a bigger dent. And just be healthier overall.

Hi everyone! I am doing great with my diet and I already feel different. I don't weigh myself, so I won't find out how much I weigh until I go to the doctor on Jan 27th (my bday). I attempted suicide this morning with Zumba, but I survived. I am going to drag my broken body into the shower as soon as I get the will to move. Anyone have a suggestion as to the best post-workout food? I know you are supposed to eat protein and some sugars immediately after a workout and someone suggested chocolate milk as the best thing. Anyone know anything better?

protein shakes are the best post workout food because they combine protein and healthy dextrose (sugar).

WEIRD.

Just got on here and read through the last page. Bottom two posts about protein and sugars after workout. LMAO it's a SIGN...

Last night I was on the way to gym and my H said that to me... told me I should eat some protein after... I blew him off. Had chinese yesterday at 12:30 then finished it at 4:30 I was done eating for the day.

Then I went home and did some Wii Fit. Back to "overweight" on that stupid thing, when IRL I've lost 4-5 pounds. Anyway, it's tip for the day was to have protein and sugars after my workout.

Now I read this...

I guess I should get some good protein shakes... I like smoothies, like strawberry/banana. Can I just do protein powder in them?

Ok, I've been working on getting back on track this week but it's been a bit rough cause I'm still fighting a cold/cough!

I didn't go to the gym Monday or Tuesday, but last night I trained for 1.5 hrs with a friend of mine who does pro MMA fighting...and is an awesome fighter and trainer. We're working on kickboxing and let me tell you, I'm hooked! And I mean the real life kickboxing, not the crappy cardio kickboxing that's taught at my gym. We trained at the facility he trains out of which has an actual cage and a ring. It was awesome!

That was really the motivation I needed to jump start me again. 37 days til the wedding...GOTTA DO IT!

Good luck guys!

Want to share a link I just signed up for today that helps me count calories & even has cell APPS to do the same. I cannot believe I've already eaten my recommended calorie count for the day even before dinner....I was way off on my estimate of healthly eating.

http://caloriecount.about.com/

Been using YourSelf! Fitness on Xbox for 2 years or so, or riding recumbent bike+ab exercises. I'd lost 35 lbs between 2008-2009, but gained back 10 lbs.

Started new game this week on Xbox360 Kinect Your Shape Fitness Evolved (kinda a spin-off of the former ResponDesign game I'd used before & the Wii game Ubisoft made from it - total flop rip-off copy that wasn't near as good when Ubisoft bought out ResponDesign).

Game's fitness evaluation kicked my butt Monday (so sore I could barely walk up steps @work), then game's personal trainer gave me a real workout Tuesday night & I did some brick breaking & hoola-hoop inside game for added calorie reduction. I was so sore that I couldn't work out last night. Gonna pick it back up again tonight...think I'll do Cardio Boxing. Signed up for online site they have that tracks stuff from the game for you also online in charts etc., but need to see how that works.
http://yourshapegame.us.ubi.com/

Wish me luck.

Fell off today with my fav. pizza and a large pepsi.

*#&$*#&$(&* snow days. Dusting myself off and starting again. My sister and I are planning our trip to Ireland next year that we have been wanting to do forever, that is my goal. I hope I can stay motivated and not have more days like today. I need to keep my enthusiasm up!
