Just saw this thread and thought, okay,... a lot of folks make resolutions for the 1st of January. Well,.... today is the 1st of February and I just made my resolution to start my weight loss process. I've got the right foods in the house now, so here I am with you other fine SI folks in a wonderful weight loss journey.

First up, my breakfast smoothie filled with a high protein yogurt and an assortment of fruit.

Broken, welcome to the group! The more the merrier!

I'm still on track with my diet and exercises. Have been doing my cardio, sauna, and kickboxing training. I'm super sleepy this morning after spending about 3.5 hrs at the gym last night, but it was completely worth it.

I was about to try on the dress again last night, but I figured I would wait until after the weekend to see how much further up the damn zipper goes. I'll let you guys know!

How's everyone else doing? Anyone still here....??

Hey Jessy ~
Good luck on staying motivated and continuing to get to the gym. I'm still here - on my way to the gym to hit the pool. I've been lagging a bit but am ready to get my grind on again..
Can't wait to hear how the dress fitting goes!

ETA: I'm back from the pool. I spent an hour in there doing nothing but laps (breast stroke, free stroke, back stroke, free stroke - in that order).. I'm pooped but I feel really good...

Yay Jai!!! Good for you

Glad you're back on track Jessica!

I went to the gym last night...did the aqua cardio class for an hour...then 20 minutes on the stairmaster...then Abs/Zumba class for another hour...and then sauna for 30 minutes. Yep, another 3 hours at the gym! I'm gonna skip tonight...gotta let my body recover and prepare for my kickboxing training tomorrow at 9 am!

Oh and I weighed myself this morning...down 11 lbs. 20 more to go!

Question  Posted: 10:26 AM, February 6th (Sunday), 2011View ProfileEdit MessagePrivate MessageHomepage

Hi everyone! I am so happy to have found this topic here. I have been about 20 pounds overweight for a long time now. I was keeping myself steady though, with exercise. Ever since dday I have been non stop stress eating and refusing to go to the gym. I have now gained an additional 12 pounds. I am starting a food plan as of this morning. Maybe this thread will be what I need to keep me motivated. My short term goal is 10 pounds in the first month. Then I'd like to keep going at 2 pounds a week till I lose it all. I figure that could be at around the end of May. So wish me luck everyone and I plan to keep posting!

Turns out the Jillian Michaels dvd I have is yoga, not pilates. Not that it matters, it's still going to kick my ass. But I've got a bit more of a learning curve than I expected. Still, it feels good to get some stretching done. And I only say that now because I just finished working out. Later on I'll be too sore to say anything feels good.

Great first day. I am proud of myself as I think a weight loss program will be the right think to get me out of my funk. WS is working a strong recovery program with SA. Somehow the fact that he is in recovery did nothing to lift me out of my mini depression. Hopefully sticking to my new weight loss plan will do the trick. I also did the gym for an hour today, so good for me!

Yay! Glad to hear everyone is doing so great!!!

I'm down another 2 bls...13 in total. I've been so damn good that yesterday I treated myself to a cup of soft serve ice cream to relieve my sweet craving. I even stayed in watching movies this weekend and skipped the super bowl parties to avoid the junk food and liquor temptations. Yes, I'm very determined now!

Have an awesome start to the week guys!

So, how was everyone today? I did an hour and fifteen minutes in the gym today, plus I ate only super healthy and under thousand calories. I thought I would feel weak but it's been quite the contrary. I actually did everything I needed to do today in good spirits. So either this diet is working or else it's SI that's helping me out of this funk I'm mired in.

Can we have some kind of thing, where everyone who is on the weight support group posts once a day just to check in? That way this board will be busy enough to keep me away from food.

Doing great today, stuck to my diet perfectly! Now if only I can get motivated to work out at 5am every day, not just a couple of times a week.

Jessica- you must be amazing to be able to go to the gym at 5 am even once a week. (I'm happy if I roll out of bed at 7 to get my kids ready in time!)

Great job choco! I try to check in as often as possible, but this thread has gotten a bit quieter...wondering how many have fallen off the wagon! But it's ok, more will come back around. They probably just get busy as well.

Choco, what do your 1000 calories consist of?

Way to go Jessica! I'm definitely not a 5 am exerciser. I always go after work or after class...yesterday I did about 3 hours as well. One hour of Zumba, 25 minutes on the elliptical, 15 on the stair master...and my sauna time. My resistance training/toning takes place when I train with my fighter buddy...which I will be doing tonight.

Now, I know I said I wouldn't weigh myself every day, but I weighed myself again this morning...and I'm down another lb. So 14 total. It seems that I'm dropping about a pound every day or two. I know it sounds like a lot...but I'm taking in the right foods and eating throughout the day...but I'm burning a crazy amount of calories daily as well. I'll be trying on the bridesmaid dress this weekend, so we'll see how much further up that damn zipper goes!

I just had my breakfast too...egg white flat bread sandwich with green peppers, tomatoes and onions.

Keep up the awesome work everyone!

ETA: I'm also coming to realize that it's not just about the lbs dropped (yes, I know I need to stop watching the scale) but the way your body looks as well. I "look" like I've dropped about 20-25 lbs. But it's only been 13-14 lbs. However, many parts of my body have become more toned and I've lost inches. So that has to be taken in to consideration as well. I read in Shape magazine this week that 1 lb of muscle takes up 20% less space than 1 lb of fat, or something along those lines.

Oooh Jessy, I'm NOT a 5am exerciser either. But it is literally the only time in the day I can do it. I raise the boys by myself and the little one has a disease which requires him to be fed by a gastric feeding tube around the clock and takes a lot of time, so I have to try and fit it in between his 4am feeding and meds and his 7am feeding before we get ready for school and work. I have a hard time with getting back up at 5 though, like this morning I missed my workout because I turned the alarm off and fell back asleep without really being alert enough to realize what I was doing. I woke up on my own at 630 and was annoyed with myself for missing it.

And choco, I wish I could go to the gym, but I have to stick to a DVD since I can't leave the house b/c the kids are sleeping.
