Good luck, Jessy!
I did my first Zumba class last night. WOW! I am so sore today, but I had SO MUCH FUN! I talked to a lot of the other ladies in the class, and they all were very encouraging and shared their stories of weight loss. I'm inspired! Posts: 2471 | Registered: Feb 2011 | From: NWPA |

Good luck Jessy! I'm back on the wagon - I fell off because I got sick but I'm better and about to hit the pool after I take my little one to school...I've also made the decision to start the Atkins program. I've done a ton of research and like what I see...so I'll keep everyone posted! FWW - 39

Hey everyone! How is it going? I have been doing terribly the past few days. Is there anyone on here with something to say that will push me back on the wagon? I need some heavy duty motivation. Me: 24 BS

I can tell you this: Having people that know that you're on a diet helps. But you need a TRUE motivator, you just have to realize what that is.
For me, i'm very close to black belt, and I dont want to be an overweight blackbelt.
So far I've lost a pants size; 13 lbs on the "Woman Doctor's Women's diet" circa 1972. It's on amazon, I looked. I got my own copy for $5.
I'm not saying it's the answer for you, but after years of being overweight, it was for me. {Him}FBH - 41 (WifeHad5)

I've been slacking in the exercise department too, and cheating on the diet is starting to sneak in too. I am seriously slipping back into old habits, help! BW,31

Today is my day off work since working the weekend and holiday; I tried a new yoga on the netflix wii this morning. Thanks, inconnu! I got off track a little with the sick baby ordeal over the last couple of weeks. Now that everyone is relatively back to normal, I am getting motivated and back on track. Choco, I fell off too, let's get back to it! PM me anytime. BW,31

yay jessy - now can you breathe in it? good job girlie!
so, I started Atkins yesterday - which makes today the 2nd day of induction. I'm still getting used to the idea that bacon and cheese are acceptable. Very weird. But, I'm focused! I want to drop at least 30 lbs before my 20th high school reunion in August.
The program states little to no exercise during induction simply because your body is adjusting to the switch in energy source (carbs to fat) so I might be a little tired. I don't necessarily like that idea so I plan on hitting the pool today to work on my freestyle stroke and get some cardio & strength training in.
How's everyone else doing? Is there anyone on here with something to say that will push me back on the wagon? I could but I might hurt your feelings that said, I agree with BR, only you know what that source of motivation is...think of a goal, something you want to achieve and if you have a visual clue or momento, use that too! After doing pretty well last week, I dove off the wagon big-time last weekend and ending up binging on Girl Scout cookies. But after reading Thren's thread in OT about being on the paleo diet, I'm going to look into that some more. I know when I get enough protein, I don't crave the sweets nearly as much. But once I start eating the sugary stuff, it's really hard for me to stop. So the paleo stuff is making some sense to me. Now I just need to find some good recipes.

I'm not sure if this is simply a placebo effect or not, because it's early days, but I've been following the diet guidelines in Gary Taubes' book Why We Get Fat since Tuesday and it sure seems like I have more energy. It's not specifically paleo, but it is a high protein, low carb diet. Anyway, all I know is this weekend I'm not sitting around the house binging on GS cookies like I did last weekend. So that's a plus in my book. Say what you wanna say and let the words fall out...honestly

Totally fell off the wagon here!
I saw at least one person has done the P90X - what do you think of it? Is it too hard for a moderate exerciser? They have a version that is a little more of a starter and then you go to the P90X - anyone try that?
Now that the weather will be getting better soon (fingers crossed!), I am also looking at the couch to 5K program. Anyone try that? It takes 9 weeks to get to 5K so I thought that I could sign up for a 5K in early May to work toward.
Can't wait to see the dress pictures Jessy! You need to give us a "before" if you can as well. Way to go! Couch to 5K sounds interesting. I signed up for the heart walk in May; I would love to be pretty close to my goal if not there completely by then. May is good. BW,31
