My weightloss was going no where. About a week ago I upped my water intake from 8 8oz glasses to 12 8oz glasses and started exercising again. I've lost another 2 lbs.

I need help staying motivated.

I took the holidays off, only gained one pound though. Back on track starting yesterday...

I've lost 12 pounds since mid-October, and want to lose at least another 10.

New Year...have to get motivated to restart my exercise routine. Last year at this time, I was training hard for a summer bike ride (200 miles in one day, which I completed ), but I have been slacking a lot since October. Hoping to find some motivation here to get back on track.

I'm going to start really, really small. I always have these grand plans, but then I have a busy day with work and the three kids, and by the time all is said and done, I end up vegging on the couch once the kiddies are in bed.

So... ten minutes on the treadmill tomorrow. That's all. I feel like I can make time for that. Who's with me? Ten minutes of your exercise preference tomorrow!

Between health issues and a busy schedule, I have really put on the pounds. I'm suffering from a cold and feel like hell, but I have committed to getting up every hour or so and doing a lap around my office building. Baby steps.

Meta wrote this on the other post

I think my goal is to learn how to eat normally instead of this "all or nothing" attitude I seem to have going

This is my goal too. I am obsessive and crazy. Then one day I wake up and I am out of that mode and back to food mode, it's odd.

I just want control....

I started September 17 and am down 42 pounds. I want to lose 20 more, and I am afraid I will wake up one morning and my strength will be gone.

"All or nothing" describes me too! I can be good for a while and then I figure I deserve a break so I put the weight back on. I would love to break this cycle.

I would LOVE to be someone who overeats/eats unhealthy only occasionally and that goes for alcohol intake too! I read an article in Women's Health yesterday (while at the gym!) that said anything over 7 drinks per week/no more than 3 on any given day = heavy drinker. Well that's me!

I am pretty good at dieting, but when I diet I tend to give myself a break on getting to the gym so instead I am going to try and do both for a short period of time (I have a trip scheduled at the end of January and I am trying to drop some weight by then) and then stop the "diet" and instead try to maintain healthy eating habits most (80%?) of the time and shoot for three workouts a week.

As for alcohol - my H and I always take the month of January off from drinking as a detox (Women's Health said this does help) and then I will try to get as close to the 7 drinks per week/no more than 3 on any given day. This will be a big change for me (generally my H and I will split a bottle of wine most nights and I have more like 5 drinks on weekend days) so I am going to try and keep a journal so that I am more aware of how many (unhealthy) calories I am consuming in alcohol.

I will do Sunday weigh-ins here like others plan to and hopefully that will lend some accoutnability as well!

Good luck all!!

If you feel you don't have time to exercise, you might want to try HIIT--High Intensity Interval Training. You can get a great workout in 15 mins. You warm up for 3-4 mins, go balls-to-the-wall (whatever that is to you, by the way) for 30 seconds, then recover for 2 minutes--repeat until you reach 15 minutes. Do this 3-4 times a week. In the beginning, your balls-to-the-wall may be just walking fast, with your 2 min recovery being normal walking. You will progress. It can be walking, jogging, treadmill, elliptical--whatever cardio works best for you.

On 3 alternate days, do 15 minute strength training workouts--I love the Women's Health Big Book of 15 Minute Workouts. On your off days, you can have a day of rest or do some yoga or pilates. It's only 15 minutes out of your day and it works.

I promise to surround myself with amazing souls and love them fiercely.

My struggle is that I view food as a reward. If something good happens, I want to celebrate by eating. If something bad happens, I want to commiserate by eating. If I eat good for a few days, I want to eat an entire cake to reward myself.

Sad: Thanks - 15 minute workouts sound great! Getting to the gym is hard and finding time in the morning is hard, but even I might have trouble weasling out of a 15 minute workout I can do anywhere!

Ama: That clip was funny! I am not a cake person (not a sweet tooth in general), but the reward/solace justification is something I definitly use for alcohol!! the only reason I've ever played organized sports is the team drinking afterward. The best was curling - they even drink during the game!

Regarding the 15 minute workouts, I should have mentioned that you can preview some of them on the Women's Health website before buying the book: www.womenshealthmag.com

I went way over my calories yesterday (yay bar night!), so I'm trying to be really good today to sort of compensate. My normal goal is to hit between 1150 and 1350 a day. Yesterday I was around 2200.

I walked a couple miles today and did a solid hour+ of yoga (which went exceptionally well - I did Wheel for the first time!! ), and have been good on eating - only about 900 calories and didn't really feel hungry - until now. 9pm.

I've noticed this before, if I go way over one day, I'm not nearly as hungry the next day, like my body knows I need to overcorrect a little bit.

Now I'm just trying to darnedest not to dig out a bag of pretzels and a jar of peanut butter....

I'm struggling with some health issues, a boatload of stressors, and a seasonal case of "it's too damn cold, I don't wanna do anything." And I'm pretty sick and tired of all my excuses.

Since New Year's, I've been holding myself accountable, and it doesn't hurt that my On/Off switch has suddenly been flipped, and I am now miraculously mindful of my eating habits.

Re-started my food diary, which always seems to help, and I am working in 20 min of Zumba each day. I'm down 5 lbs since NY. Yay for immediate gratification!

I am now 49 lbs off my goal weight and determined to make this a life change rather than a flash in the pan.

I decided to get back on track with my weight loss goals.

I found a great App that I can use to keep track of my daily calories.
I'm taking it one day at a time.
So far so good.

The App says that I will reach my goal weight by the end of April!

I gave myself the first week of this year to ease back into things - stocking the fridge with fruits & veggies, planning my meals better, and so on. Since Wednesday, I have been kind of following a 7 day higher protein/lower carb meal plan from women's health mag, which seems to be working for me.

So for next week, my goals are to follow the WH meal plan; exercise for 30 minutes each day on 5 days; and track all this on myfitnesspal.

I remembered that last time I lost weight drinking 64oz+ of green tea (no milk) throughout the day helped.

How are we doing weigh in? How much we lost, how much closer we are to our goal?

Hi everyone! New here to this portion of the board.

Doing WW for my weight loss. I have had pretty good results with it in the past lost 60 pounds with it in combination with the D-Day Diet all within a 6 month time frame.

Over the past year about 25# have crept back on as I've adjusted to a new desk job and less free time to get my walks in. Seems as though I am stuck for the moment.

Looking to drop 100 more, just trying to develop a way to do that which doesn't require anger & depression.

Planning a trip to Paris with the Mrs in 2014. I would like to comfortably fit into a airplane seat and have the energy to walk and enjoy the city.

Gook luck everyone!

Not sure how the Sunday weigh-in works, but I'll start (gulp)...

Weighed in the morning at 159 lbs. Down 6 lbs since Jan 1! I know I can't sustain that rate and most of that is water weight - but I'm happy!

Did it by following the Medifast plan (5 of their prepared 'meals' + 1 lean protein and green veggies meal each day, lots of water and NO alcohol).

Although MF doesn't recommend working out when you start their program - I went to the gym twice in the last 5 days for easy-moderate work outs.

I plan to stay on MF until Jan 25th when I leave for a nice active snowboarding vacation. So far so good!

How did everyone else do?
