I love to read & 2 of my favorite books to read are cookbooks & biographies..

Just got several from the library that I read this week..

The first was "Time of my life" by Patrick Swayze & lisa Niemi.. I could not put this book down.. he was so honest & open.. very interesting

the second I've read is "My journey with Farrah : a story of life, love, and friendship" by Alana Stewart.. I have been dying to read this book as I have always liked Farrah but I was disapointed. too 'soft' for me.. she comes off too martyry ( like that word?)

Now I'm on "My life with Paula" by Michael Groover. Paula Deens husband.. I loved her autobiography so I hope I'll like his as well. Only read the first couple of pages & it seems good.

Any other good biography recomendations? I will read anything in that genre except historical figures..

I read Ted Kennedy's autobiography "True Compass." Interesting, but I was disappointed in some parts (namely his glossing over of his divorce from his first wife and Chappaquiddick). Other than that, interesting and insightful read.

"Wired" by Bob Woodward. Great bio of John Belushi. Very good read.

Well, I was a big One Day at a Time fan growing up and last summer I read Valerie Bertinelli's story and a few months ago I read MacKenzie Phillips'. MacKenzie's was pretty hardcore.

If you're into child star biographies, it was interesting to read their journeys.

An intellectual biography, though the author claims he didn't write a 'biography'...: Roger Williams and the Creation of the American Soul.

RW founded Rhode Island on the principal of religious liberty. This book traces the development of RW's thought and his fight with Massachusetts, which wanted to force everyone to conform to its own view of religion - heretical sects - Catholics, Anglicans, Lutherans, Baptists, Methodists, Presbyterians, Jews, Mulsims.... - originally weren't welcome in Massachusetts.

Mary: Mrs. A. Lincoln by Janis Cooke Newman.

Scandalous. My entire book club loved it (a rarity).

Oops, sorry. Just saw that you don't like books about historical figures. Maybe someone else will like it.

She packed up her potential and all she had learned and headed out to change a few things.

Hope, tell me more about this book. I have heard reports that Mary Todd Lincoln was bi-polar and had some significant issues. Sounds like it might be an interesting read. Do spill.

Theodore Rex has been enthralling GDM for the last several weeks. I had bought it to read and he beat me to it. Rascal.

If you read autobiographies and you've read "Anne Frank: the Diary of a Young Girl"... Look for "Anne Frank Remembered" by Miep Gies, one of her friends. It is interesting and very heartbreaking to read of her life from the perspective of someone who was close to her.
