Has anyone's children read this series? What do they think about? What is it all about?

Any and all reviews welcome.

Thanks

All three of my older boys have read the series (12,10,9yo). I've read them as well - except for the newest one.

They are funny stories that follow a fairly self centered kid. He does typical pre-teen stuff and often finds himself in embarrassing situations that are hard to get out of.

I'd recommend getting one out from the library and pre-reading it before giving it to your children if you are worried about it.

My kids just finished the last book, and I started reading the first one. The books have small cartoon drawings, and the stories revolve around the trials and tribulations of boy (Greg) in middle school (The usual problems with siblings, parents, and other social issues).
My son loved the books and wouldn't put them down.
Even I am enjoying them. They are cute and clever IMO.

My 9 year old son LOVES this series. I'll be honest, he did not inherit my love of books gene, but he begged for this series for his last birthday! And he reads them over and over again. He still cracks up no matter how many times he reads it! I didn't read each book, I skimmed. I didn't notice anything inappropriate in there. The movie was cute too.

All my bananas love this series, even my almost 17 year old DS. I crack up when we read them together, too. The main character is pretty self-centered but he usually gets his in the end. He doesn't get away with being so snarky all the time.

The books are funny and I highly recommend them.
