Seeing as ds19, ds16 and I still quote it to one another, I'd have to say one of our favorites was Moo, Baa, LaLaLa by Sandra Boynton.

I also really like Mama Do You Love Me? by Barbara Joosse; the Carl dog books by Alexandra Day; Stellaluna by Janell Cannon; Can't You Sleep, Little Bear? by Martin Waddell; and If You Give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Joffe Numeroff.

Say what you wanna say and let the words fall out...honestly
I wanna see you be brave

Pretty pretty please, don't you ever ever feel
Like you're less than, less than perfect

If you like YA fiction, read The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins. Amazing!

A bit of a t/j on Love You forever...when DS was about 15 going through a "goth" stage I gave in to black fingernail polish but stood firm on black eyeliner. He and I knew he'd easily do it behind my back once he left the house. It was one of our only real "fights" Both of us were upset. As he pouted on day 2 of our not speaking except as necessary, I handed him the book and said, "we may not always agree, but this is how I'll always feel about you." He read it, put it down and walked away.
About a week later he went to DC on a class trip. The next day was Mother's Day. My gift was a print of my favorite painting, The Peaceable Kingdom by Edward Hicks. On the back, he had written

I'll love you forever
I'll like you for always
As long as I'm living
My mommy you'll be

He's 28 now, a wonderful nurse with a delightful gf and still a sensitive and sweet kid. Oh, and gave up the long hair and black polish!

Kids books rock!

Damn autocorrect is responsible for the silly errors, sorry!

I hate that damn book.

She packed up her potential and all she had learned and headed out to change a few things.
