Positive thoughts and strength have gotten me through once again.

I now have two arteries with stents, a third artery to keep a watch on. One was 90% blocked, another nearly so. I was a walking time bomb. So what was my doctor thinking? Never sending me for a stress test. These blockages didn't happen overnite. Last summer I had unexplained fluid in my lungs. She didn't do a thing until I pressed the issue. Had symptoms for a long while, subtle, she never picked up on.

But I am okay. Going to be better soon than in a long time. Strength and comfort come from several places, and one is SI.

Peace.

Holy cow, TJ, you're bionic!

90% is massive -- I'm so glad they've fixed you up.

I guess you'll have way more energy now to keep up with the Farting Dogs.

Bumping for the newbies. This train needs to get rolling again.

TJ, are you OK? Please update.

IWBH, Where are you? If you are anywhere near a kitchen, TJ could use some gluten-free cake.

I've been locked down in the School Car for the last 72 hours until Burning Man (a very old ex-BF -- well he's not very old, but he is in his sixties now and came to town for a rave, LOL) showed up for a surprise visit and we had a nice dinner at the French bistro Where They Charge Extra For The Vegetables....

I was thinking just a quick bite after my bike ride, somewhere cheap, but no, he wanted a real dinner before driving home three hours up island.

There was a blizzard en route apparently.

We are having a hurricane today. The water in my toilet bowl (19 floors up) was actually *sloshing* this morning....

Back to the books. Three more weeks then I'm freeeeee....

hey, just to give the train a push and my hope and healing a boost, i thought i'd pop in and say high. i mean hi.

lmao.

peterpan and i got engaged. shhhhh. squee. i'm afraid to mention it without ducking the 2x4s, but everyone around me who knows me (including my counselors), him, me and him - they all reassure me that my attitude and actions have been pretty darn rational, hesitant even...and tell me that i should let go and let Good into my life. yes the extra "o" is on purpose.

i'm one of those that did LOTs of single, LOTs of living alone, moving to new places alone, relying on myself. that won't stop here.

i'm going through a bit right now. my mom's terminal cancer just went end stage (i found out after the engagement..so my family doesn't know yet). i wrote about my mom in Off Topic.

i love you all. tammyjean, you have thoughts, energy, prayers and hugs coming at you and your wounds. thank goodness they caught it finally!

let us know you are ok.

any newbies or passersby who need a lift? i'm here.

Wow, engaged! Congratulations!

Very sorry to hear about your dear mum. It is so hard to let them go.

Sounds like you have lots of good supports in place.

Big hugs.

Bumping. TJ, please check in.

I'm still in the Edumacation Car. Doing backflips today because the interlibrary loan I requested has come through.

I needed a very obscure book from a British Marxist historian to fill in the second half of my research paper which is due two weeks from today.

It's taken me most of this week to finish reading the text for the first part -- 200 pages of one essay by the Other British Marxist historian.

They go back and forth and I'm analysing their critiques of each other and there's an even more obscure French Marxist philosopher in the middle who they're fighting about.

Without that other book I'd be screwed... was so happy to see that email from the library in my in box today!

Stretch! Good to see you, and congratulations! We are all proof, living proof, fortunately, that There Is Life After D... And when I have trouble sleeping (frequent, I'm afraid) I will think about The Tomes you are reading, FF. I won't even have to read them...just thinking about them will lull me to Land of Nodd.

It has been one long week. Hard to believe a bit over a week ago, I was Being Stented. It will be a haul to develop Stamina. It will become my mantra... GSG was forced to go to PA for the week for work (double bleach all the way around... ). DS came overnight - and actually filed his own taxes. (He has A Girlfriend Now ) People are telling me how good I look. I do know my brain appears to be starting to work again. What a surpriose, now that I have blood flowing again. The dr. called me, after I sent a terse message. The woman is an idiot. I might as well treat myself...

Oh, here's a good story.
My wonderful brother had his son contact me on Thursday...a few hours after I was allowed to get and PEE finally after the surgery. The text asked if I could

MEET HIM AT THE AIRPORT TO PICK UP THE CAT

Um, cat?

I had suggested he return from Florida with my parents' cat, for whom they really aren't capable of caring anymore, except they cannot realize it. We offered to take him in. No reply from that email. Dear Brother demanded to know how I would introduce him to other pets. My answer was "Yes." I asked him to come by with some food and visit one evening. Nope to that one.

Anyway, now we have on the train the Biggest Ever Kittie Wipe, about 10 years old, with six toes on his front pawls. (That's how GSG pronounces it...) I will post a pic soon. He went with GSG to PA. We have named him Travelin' Jingle Jack Willbury. (His other name is....Kiki Bear. Um, no.)

I have a joke about woodpeckers, if anyone would care to "hear it."

Okay, time for a nap before the rest of the zoo arrives.

I'm up for the woodpecker joke.

'pawls' ... LOLZ.

Can't wait to see a pic of Jingles.

TJ, you are getting verrry sleeepy... Here, I'll dish you up a bit of the French philosopher:

*opening to random page*

"According to the economistic or mechanistic hypothesis, the role of the essence/phenomena opposition is to explain the non-economic as a phenomenon of the economic, which is its essence. In this operation, the theoretical (and the 'abstract') is surreptitiously substituted for the economy (since we have its theory in "Capital") and the empirical or 'concrete for the non-economic, ie., for politics, ideology, etc. The essence/phenomena opposition performs this role well enough so long as we regard the 'phenomena' as the empirical and concrete, and the essence as the non-empirical, as the abstract, as the truth of the phenomena. The result is to set up an absurd relationship between...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz"

I prefer my historian guy, who takes the air right out of his tires:

"Arrayed in this scarlet and furred gown of Theory, Althusser may now storm into every adjacent lecture theatre, and, in the name of philosophy, denounce the incumbents and expropriate them of their poor defective disciplines which pretend to be knowledges."

Are we there yet?

I'm going to get some wine and tackle this baby tomorrow...

The weekend has FINALLY arrived.

I am QUITE sick of the Edumacation Car. I'm outta it.

This weekend is the Flower and Garden Show. Ironic, since we have in the US of A Northeast, been having Spring and Summer for the past month or so. Now this weekend, it will cool off, and even go into the 20's this coming week.

GSG had a birthday on WEdnesday. We are continuing to eat Vanilla Cake with Coconut Frosting.

Now, for the joke FF stated she would like to hear...and anyone else who would like to read:

The Traveling Woodpeckers:

An Alaskan woodpecker and a Texas woodpecker were in Alaska arguing about which state had the toughest trees to peck. The Alaskan woodpecker said that they had a tree there that no woodpecker can peck.

The Texas woodpecker challenged him and was able to peck a hole in the tree with no problem. The Alaskan woodpecker was in awe!

The Texas woodpeck then challenged the Alaskan woodpecker to come to Texas and try to peck this certain tree there that no woodpecker had ever been able to peck successfully.

The Alaskan woodpecker said he was sure he would be able to do it. So, after flying down to Texas, he successfully pecked the tree!

The two woodpeckers then had a discussion about why they were each unable to peck those trees in their own states. After thinking about this problem for some time, they both came to the same conclusion: “Your pecker is always harder when you’re away from home…”

I found this joke as GSG had a lunch meeting with A Team Full of Peckerish Men. Wanted to make her laugh in the middle of the lunch. Yup, I am BAD.

I have some pics to post - especially of Jack the Mitten, New Cat On The Train. Have to upload to photobucket, then download here.

Later, all.

Trainees, I've been struck down by another evil floomonia virus since last Saturday.

I'm now at the lung-butter stage. Clogged the toilet yesterday morning because I put all my used tissues down there and didn't flush enough.

That was when my fevered brain realized I had neglected to replace the Matrimonial Toilet Plunger.

Ack!

So I had to drag my sorry ass to the pharmacy (via the handy community centre loo...) to get one (I won't even mention how I toyed with the idea of calling the x to bring me one) and then the fucker wouldn't plunge properly.

By the time I finally got it unplugged I was dripping and exhausted and had to take a 4 hour nap...

Doctor says the usual "It's a virus. It will pass."

Thanks for that. So much...

Have not done a lick in the School Car all week, the paper is due on Friday, I'm 2/3rds done and have all day Sunday and next Tuesday and Wednesday pm to finish it, so it will be OK.

However I'm also supposed to do an in class presentation on Monday which I may have to bail on.

Work tomorrow starts at 7:00 am. I have to be up at 5:00, my ride comes at 6:30.

Come on Easter long weekend! I'm so ready.

In the meantime you can call me Bill the Cat *kack*coff*spew*splutter*

GOOOD MORNING TRAIN GANG!!!!

remember me?

Just wanted to check in and say hello. TJ keeps me up to date on everyones exploits. Congrats to you Stretch! FF hope you're feeling better. Damn floozies strike when you least expect it
---------------------------
Here in the Northeast US it is COLD. we had 80 degree weather last week.... last night it was in the 20's... RIDICULOUS I SAY. We scrammbled about last night trying to cover up some of the tenderest plants. The biggest feet was covering the weeoing cherry tree. You see, little flower buds started emerging eary because of the super mild temps. So in order to save the little blossoms we place a tarp over it. Sounds simple right???? the "little" weeping cherry is about 15 feet tall so the first order of business was to drag the ladder out (scary enough) Then I climbed to the top with a huge tarp. Did I mention there were 40 MPH winds while we were doing this??? danger, danger, danger! Picture it... me high up on a ladder, tarp billowing n the wind, TJ standing below in a parka holding onto rope we toed to the corners of the tarp. I'll give you a moment to contemplate all the potential catastrohes

We did manage to get the darn thing covered. Now it looks like we have a hot air balloon tethered in the back yard. At night it looks like a poorly crafted UFO. (we have tiny lights on the tree so they glow under the tarp). In addition we have bed sheets sprawed over the andromeda bushes in the fornt yard. Our neighbors probably think we have gone off the deeo end.... they of course did not make any attempts to protect their plantings.
---------------------------
Turned another year older last week...WOOHOOO Clearly not any smarter based on the story above. I did learn however after playing basketball that I now officially have "geezer knees" OUCH

I'll catch up again soon. take care everyone and keep in mind... spring is here and the time to plant new seeds is upon us!

-GSG

*geezer knees* I gotz them

Random shooting pains near the shins? gotta love that.

The mucus tap has not turned off yet. This is Day 11.

Apparently this is the virus known as The Clinger.

Looking forward to a comedy show on Friday night. I need a good laugh.

Last history class next Monday. Will be spending the next two afternoons/evenings in the Edumacation Car finishing my paper, then one more article and I'm done.

We're all going for dinner at my favourite wine bar the Thursday before the long weekend.

The prof is going to join us. That will be fun.

OK just chiming in to keep the train a'rolling. Been off my face busy for the past few weeks, left the business that my stbxh and I had built together so trying to find a full-time job right now. Working in a temp job for the Government for a few weeks to keep the wolves at bay. Why didn't I do this months ago?? I feel so much better even though I am stressed to the max (if that makes sense ). Don't have time to think about the devastation that Sir Shagalot has inflicted on us all. That has to be a bonus!

Sorry to hear that TJ has been poorly and FF is having a few twinges. Great to hear from GSG. I am hobbling around on a possibly fractured foot at the moment, don't ask how I did it, I would have to be the clumsiest kluts around. Anyway, it is not life-threatening just bloody annoying (and painful). Can I have a few sympathetic hugs please?

I will try and get really creative and send something brilliant over the next few days. Even if it is just that I have managed to cook something that didn't come out of a packet. Need to get myself back into the zone of working full-time outside of my comfort zone.

There are so many wonderful, creative, intelligent and beautiful people on this train, so thank you for including me . Time to move on and embrace a new and exciting life, hard though it may be.

My house is a mess at the moment because I can't get things done limping around on my blasted foot. BUT this is my mantra for this week in regards to housework.

"Yes, I am a great housekeeper. When I enter a room I always give it a sweeping glance".

Oh, my beautiful son just got engaged last Friday to a girl I adore. I don't know who is more thrilled, him, her or me!

Onwards and forwards my friends.
