We are finally warming up here on the Left Coast but it's still a bit chilly in the mornings.
FF is shopping for new luggage today. 20 more sleeps until I fly to England.
On Thursday I got a call from x wanting to know if I wanted his freebie to see a sold out John Prine show. It pays to be nice I tell you. The peace offerings just keep coming and who am I to say no?
On Friday there was a premiere of a documentary that was done about a local landmark -- my name got into the credits because I did a couple of years researching the history. It will probably run on the Knowledge Network.
Over the weekend I went shoe shopping and wound up wandering into the furniture store instead.
There awaiting me was the perfect Danish teak laminate bookshelf that perfectly fits the space in my livingroom that has needed filling since I moved in a year and a half ago.
So I spent Saturday afternoon unloading my boxes of books. I got to recycle six boxes, which makes me very happy.
I now have my little library so if I feel like browsing something I can just take it off the shelf.
Other than that I rode the bicycle quite a bit over the weekend sniffing the glorious flowers, patio lunching drinking beer with a friend and just generally enjoying life again.
Trainees, just know that happy is an attainable thing.

How is everybody doing on the Peace Train today?
Need your windows done?
You must be in GB, given the photo!
My healing is nearly complete. Given cervical surgery, broken hip, thyroid issues and heart problems, I completed the Workforce. Challenge, 5K race yesterday evening. I did it in one hour! Freihofer's Race for Women is in two weeks...if I can get someone to do it with me, I think I will enter. Healing will be complete.
We are going to PA today. Doing the Amish Plant Circuit. Lots ofovely plants, at good prices. And veautifuk scenery to boot. Looks to b a great trip, good weather, greenery everywhere. Lots of rain lately, but it helps catch up from the winter lack thereof. When our various gardens are planted, and some lilies are blooming, I'll post some photos.
Sheila, if you stop in, I will be sending a PM soon. Things are calming down at work...finally.
Looks like the Peace Train has been very quiet lately. Might need a bit of steam to get it going again.
TJ - You are a star! After all your health issues, you still manage to get up and get moving in a HUGE way. You are my inspiration
FF - You're in the UK I'm assuming? I was born and bred in London, so if you are spending any time there, please say hello to the old cobbled streets for me. I miss it greatly. Have a great trip!
Land of Ellejay:
I'm in the "Training" car this week. Learning how to deal with suicide threats at work. Very intense and emotional, so need some Peace. Now back at my "old" workplace but in a new department. I gave up this job 2 and a half years ago on Sir Shagalot's wishes so that I could help him set up the business. Little did I know that his long term plan was to kick me to the curb once the business was successful and give it all to other women. Anyway, my old colleagues are delighted to see me back and I feel safe. Meanwhile Sir Shagalot is getting death threats from at least one of the BS's he has stepped on. Karma rules.
Have to have my Gallbladder removed in 3 weeks. Something I could have done without at the moment but I will take a leaf out of TJ's book and just keep on moving forward.
There seems to be a few of us missing from the Train lately, so I hope it means you are all OK and have found Peace, Love or are just too darn busy to spend time on it.
Back soon, meanwhile take care everyone. Love to you all.
I love this:
Anyway, my old colleagues are delighted to see me back and I feel safe. Meanwhile Sir Shagalot is getting death threats from at least one of the BS's he has stepped on.
Karma is very sweet innit?
Not arrived in the UK yet, leaving on Sunday evening, will fly over the pole and be there by teatime on Monday.
Two sleeps in the lovely East Sussex countryside, then five sleeps in Portugal (bliss!), then some time in Ireland with my peeps, then finishing up in London with more peeps, including my nephew who I rarely see.
It's going to be a very social three and half weeks. So much fun!
Good luck with the gall bladder. You'll feel better once it's out.
Big hugs all around to the trainees who may be peeking in to see what it is all about.
Onward and upward!
I though I would pop my face onto the train again for a quick chat.
I am generally happy the occasional bout of gloominess appears now and again but I beat it back into submission.
Work is good and keeping me busy. currently out in Angola for a month before popping back to Singapore for a couple of months.
Oh and have to tell you all just had a fantastic weeks holiday in Montenegro. Stayed hal way up a hillside overlooking the town of Budva.
Check this out. the view from my bedroom window
Here is a shot of old town Budva and the cake and coffee shop.
oh did they have some nice cake or what.....

and make other people a little nervous, hehehe
Welcome my friend!! I will let TammyJean (the originator of this train) give you the run down on what it's all about. However for now I will just say that you are safe here and we give out inspirational thoughts, lots of hugs and of course peace to all who need it.....oh and sometimes we post wonderful pictures of our adventures and cooking skills. Please post your thoughts often, the train needs to be kept on its tracks from time to time.
Hello there IWBH! - Glad to see you after all this time. Loved the pics, what an amazing time you are having. You sound great and are obviously in a good head-space. We miss your cooking, in fact some of us have lost a considerable amount of weight. That's OK though, just glad to know you are alive and well.
Land of Ellejay:
Just sitting here enjoying the solitude of my thoughts. Working hard but in great company. Have come a long way over the past 18 months, still a big mountain to climb but feeling so much more optimistic. Life is good.
Love you all.
The best I can do at the moment of a positive new activity is to hold a garden tea party. I have the garden and love tea. But I've never been to a tea party, nor do I own a tea set. I've just been using loose leaf in a tea bag. I notice many of you are on the other side of the pond. Any suggestions on etiquette or what to buy in terms of a tea set? Thanks and have a great day!
Dont retreat, reload.

The Ravi Shankar is open for meditation and yoga -- 24/7 -- with soothing tunes, incense and mats galore.
I LOVE the idea of a garden tea party! You could make everyone wear an outrageous sun hat.
Proper Brown Betty tea pot for making of the brew, pretty thrift shop finds for cups and saucers, who cares if they match.
If IWBH were in the country, you might luck out and get an amazing cake, but you'll have to provide your own this time around. And tiny sandwiches with no crusts.
And VERY VERY VERY glad to see you, IWBH! We are thinking of a balloon ride...closest I can get to participation in your fabulous Defying of Death!!! BWAHAHAHA!!!!
I am about to look back this weekend, and see the first date of the first chapter of the Peace Train. It began first as a daily post, then became chapters. While all of us ranted and raved especially at first after our D-Days, I found after a few months I needed a place of peace; needed to find hope and healing where we could all support each other in an additional way.
So the Peace Train was born.
We added cars, such as the Ravi Shankar (thanks to FF), the dining car, where many of us made wonderful desserts (especially IWBH, but one had to get to the goodies quickly or he ate them all... ); the galley car, where we cook and bake; the lounge, where there are comfy seats, soft tissues and kittie wipes (when needed) - and boas of all colors, and cowboy boots and hats when we need to form a posse. We have sleeper cars, the edumacation car, the Attorney Car, the Bar Car...and now:
We have Garden Tea Car...so when newnormal has her party, we expect some photos...
While Eek, the spider monkey, has since retired, he would scare away The Fucklenuttz ** of Affairworld. Plus, if anyone falls off the train, there are a WHOLE lot of hands reaching out to help you back on. We even offer a gentle 2 X 4 (our favourite oxymoron) when anyone requests it. When one of us breaks NC, or has trouble with the 180, we are here to listen and to give a good sqeeze (thanks to GSG). Yes, we have had some pretty darn good typos, but we make fun of them, then use them forevermore.
We also have quite a few kittie wipes (they don't mind some tears upon their fur), and some Farting Dogs that will cuddle up any time. I'll post a few pics this weekend of a few of the wonderful pets.
We share our trials and tribulations, we share all that is difficult, wonderful, and good. Some of us also PM, and have even met. My personal dream is to win the Lottery, and have everyone from all over the U.S., Scotland and England, Australia, etc., come to meet at some wonderful spa for a week. No cost to anyone. My dream. Sigh.
Anyway, my message to all: We are strong. Even when we don't feel strong, we are strong because we can recognize when we don't particularly feel strong! Never give away your dignity. To anyone. We all have worth and value.
(Words taken from one of Ser Jr's essay, which I will post again soon.)
That is just a short explanation of our Train. This site, SI, helped me through the darkest of times, by connecting me with so many people all over the world who were in different stages of healing. Support available anytime.
Next post will be of the result of our Pennsylvania Flower Shopping Weekend.
And perhaps I will find an inspiring quote, altho GSG and Ellejay are the masters of those!!!

Welcome new riders! you'll find great peace, harmony and laughter here along with support and understanding.
I personally contribute some fantastic typos that bring even me to tears.
Well, the next phase of the "new and imprived me" is in the works. I am submitting my admission request to a local University. I never managed to finsh my degree... some think becuase Lecretia McEvil entered my life (partly true, but I must accept resonsibility or my ridiculous, youthful actions) Anyway, if all goes well my first classes wil begin in September.
IN the meantime I'll be in the garden pullin weeds, an swatting mosquitos (one of the few living creatures I do not hesitate to kill). Fresh tomato, peppers, eggplant and herbs for all. Colorful boqettes of flowers for each table.
Off to rest and relax a bit. ONe more day of work till a 4 day break. Not nearly as exciting as IWBH and FF jaunts but a fun filled weekend planned with dirt, mulch and pants.

Despite my screen name, I am very much a woman and hell yeah I wish I could change that name to gladshesgone
I told you about the typos....best leave them for TJs enjoyment
"new and imprived me"
Kind of a combo of "improved" and "improvised"....
Sorry, only one killer tomato will have to feed all...
Not nearly as exciting as IWBH and FF jaunts but a fun filled weekend planned with dirt, mulch and pants.
Tears are streaming down my face. I can't see.
Man, have we missed you, GSG.
Peace out, riders...
Checking in on Day 5 of the fabulous post-divorce liberation celebration.
We have a farting dog:
A rather bossy kitty wipe...
And a private spa...
More pics in F&G, including a flaming chorizo. GSG, don't try it at home!!!
Healing ongoing in high gear now. Takes time but it happens...
Planting almost done...here are photos of the car. We purchased a lounger, and put plants under it and on top of it. There was still room for a hanging basket and a dog.
Farting Dog helping herself to dinner...
And Mr. Mittens helping himself to Dog Food. Nell declares, "Um, what" That's mine!"
And in Fun and Games will be posting the pics of:
TJ and GSG after the 5K Freihofer's Run for Women a few hours ago.
I ran a few weeks back, and did better time this time...goal is to improve enough to get through it in under forty minutes.
But doing this twice in three weeks, after all the health difficulties of the past couple of years, I am feeling good. GSG is a trooper to go along and motivate me through.
i'm in the red bull car working up some heroic packing strength. i'm tired inside. sending peace your way, counting on the Universe to bounce it back at me...preferable through my "power circuits."
life must be rich and full of loving--it's no good otherwise, no good at all, for anyone - j. kerouac
Blew up the Edumacation Car!
Hope you recovered from packing mania, Stretch.
Last day of school for a few months. Will take that long to recover from this school year.
We attended a Sugarland Concert, and have Brad Paisley coming up this week.
Hope all of you trainees are well and happy. Off to small family reunion in PA. Perfect weekend to spend by the river.
Purchased second vehicle:
Her name is Bernice Sugapuss Dakota. Quad cab. We built a platform, and step, for Farting Dogs. Have a car gate so Big Nell can't try to climb on the dashboard...worth its weight in gold. will post pic after weekend.
Going to WV for vacation next weekend, in the mountains, taking one of the Farting Dogs. Looking forward to it Been a rough year.
Announcement! In September, GSG will join the Edumacation Car, to finish up her college degree. Congratulations, dear friend! NYS has online university, Empire State..Good deal.
Everyone, sign on to check in!
Just read a great book "The Power of Now" very inspirational. I think it will take some intense commitment on my part to practice the "Now" but I am trying and my heart is true.
Haven't seen much activity on the Peace Train recently but then again, I have been busy too with starting a new job, having a stint in hospital and trying to find my spiritual self once again.
Just want to have a damn good laugh at the moment. Trying not to think too much about the future or the past, it is quite liberating actually.
Here's a quote from "Stillness Speaks" by Eckhart Tolle.
"The moment you enter the Now with your attention, you realise that life is sacred. There is a sacredness to everything you perceive when you are present. The more you live in the Now, the more you sense the simple yet profound joy of Being and the sacredness of all life."
My next entry will be something even more profound. I might even bake a cake and post a picture. Then you will know I have really achieved enlightenment
I know about hospital stints, and then gaining back strength, physical and spiritual. I have been on the former for a while, not there yet,. Spiritually GSG and I are working on that too.
Our beloved Kitty Wipe, Bubba Gump, a.k.a., Mr. C and Bijou, passed away this past Friday. He became ill very suddenly, kidney failure. He was 18. Bijou rests peacefully in our memory garden, next to Midnight.
Bijou had a meow as big as a tiger, appropriate as he was tiger cat. Many years ago, he began a university for cats. the Bump Dump University. He taught cats how to read and talk (kinda like Huck Finn ), and taught them that all dogs are hill scum. Gump now teaches by satellite....
Gump clearly has been working with Mr. Mittens via satellite. Mr. Mittens has not shown any interest in the catnip patch, or sleeping like flat cat. Now, he goes up to the Memory Garden and hangs out in the middle of the catnip. He sleeps like flat cat, all stretched out, about five feet long. He even comes up to me in early morning, purring and wanting to be petted. All Gump.
Vacation to WV cancelled, as it was blown off the map. Going to Maine in two weeks. Next week, I get to return to Firecamp. Had to purchase gear, but it will be worth it. A way of staying in fire service, and giving back as a volunteer.
Will post a pic of our gardens soon. Second year lily garden fantastic. People stop to tell us how beautiful our front garden is. Curb appeal....
Looking forward to hearing progress of everyone out there. Good to see you, Ellejay.
