I have a Touch, and I love it.

The sites that have free Kindle books daily (Ereader News Today and Pixel of Ink) have gotten me interested in different authors and genres than anything I would've previously read. Since they are FREE, it's definitely worth the risk. I've only disliked one or two of the MANY free books I have downloaded for my Kindle.

The Fire is a lot of fun and very versatile. It's heavy (compared to a classic Kindle) and since it's cloud based for the most part, being near wi-fi is almost a must. We have 4 in this household, the kids each have their Fires and I have one. I kept my e-ink kindle for outdoor reading.

I'd like a bigger tablet with more features, but for 200 bucks, this works well enough.

DD watches Netflix and Amazon Prime video on it, works well!

Once you've downloaded books to the device you don't need to be near wifi.

Another good thing about the Fire? Since it's just a little Android tablet, you can read other formats on it. Sometimes you have to go around the Amazon Android store because they have blocked things out, like Aldiko, which is an epub reader, and Dropbox, which is storage.

By going around Amazon, I can read my entire (enormous) epub collection. And PDFs and what not, of course. PDFs, you just have to use landscape and have good eyes.

It nagged him, in particular, that none of the girls hed known so far had given him a sense of unalloyed triumph.

I love mine--I love that it really feels like reading words on a paper page. I also love having a cover with a light, so I can read in bed in a dark room.

But I have to admit, the Nook tablet I got after (because my daughter works at Barnes and Noble and convinced me it was de rigeur) is a pretty nifty device, too.

I find I use the Nook for totally different things than the Kindle, though---for magazines (which have nifty interactive things, such a music samples in the music review sections, and animated demonstrations of exercises, etc), for the 'net, and for Netflix and Hulu and such.

I do like it for reading books, but find the Kindle easier on my eyes.

I am a turn the pages and feel the book in my hands kinda girl. I did not want the Kindle my mom got me for Christmas, that being said, my mother was right. I love my Kindle, so much so that I bought a Kindle Fire with my tax return. Again, I love the Fire also. I don't get to use the Fire much, it is usually in the hands of my 10 year old son, in that situation I have my original Kindle to read. Bonus, any book I purchase for Fire automatically downloads to the regular Kindle so I have my books on both readers

I have become addicted to Pixel of Ink and Ereader News Today (free Kindle book sites). Both offer a dozen+ free Kindle books each day. When they're free, I'm willing to take risks with different authors and genres. Have found some really enjoyable books this way. So far have only disliked one.

I bought brightbeauty a kindle fire for vanlentines day to replace the Kindle 3g that I bought her for Christmas 2010. As a (totally unintended) result, I now have the 3g. I really like it but I had my first "hate it" moment last friday.

I was sitting in the pick-up line at lilbeast's school and pulled out my kindle to read until school let out. As soon as I turned it on, I get the "battery empty, recharge 30 minutes" screen. NO previous warning that the battery was low. I never had to re-charge my books.

I thought I wanted a career, but I discoved that I just like paychecks.

For everyone who has a "Firebaby" and occasionally has to get in a non-Wifi zone...

If you have a smartphone with a reasonable data plan and don't want to pay those pesky tethering fees, you can turn your phone into a Wifi hub with a few free programs. I use Foxfi.
