i'm guilty of transmitting the f word to my 3 year old, but i'm not the only one who says it around her. still, it sounds so awful...yet cute...coming out of her mouth.

i've made it clear that it's bad for mommy to say also...now she will occasionally, very quietly and shyly under her breath, with an eye pointed at me waiting for my reaction.

oops.

I know! It was awful, but hysterical at the same time. I had to leave the room afterwards b/c I didn't want him to know I thought it was funny!

We've taught DS4 that whenever he belches or passes gas that he has to say "Excuse me". His little girlfriend's mom taught her to say "Pardon me". Very cute.

The other night we were out and he burped. As loud as can be he pipes up with "Harden me, Mommy! Harden me!"

I was laughing so hard that I couldn't even correct him. Thankfully the other people around us thought it was funny, too.

I burped one day and said, "Excuse me! I'm a pig."

DS3 heard it and it's stuck every since. Only his version is, "Excuse me pig!" Chivalry at its finest.

So we have a fireplace that you can sit in front of - the bricks extend out. We put candles inside of it instead of wood, but I still don't let DD onto it except for to sit very calmly on the edge now and then.

Well I had to stand on it to reach above the mantle to clean the other day, and DD starts scolding me almost immediately,

"No NO, mama! You seet TUSH right NOW! No stanna fiya-pace!"

Touche.

DS informed me that it was a new month. I asked him if he knew what holiday was in May. He didn't, so I told him it was Mother's Day. I asked him if he had gotten me a present. His response was "Not at this point".

I laughed and asked him if he was going to get me something. He thought for a minute (must have been thinking hard because his face was all scrunched up) and said "Yep!"

I asked what he was going to get me.

"A rainbow Ferrari with a toucan on top!"

I don't know where he got this idea, but he's been telling me he wants one for weeks. Now that there's an occasion coming up, apparently he thinks now's the time to get it.

"DS, get your hand out of your pants."

"No, I'm checking."

"Checking what?"

"To see if it's bigger."

We've been working at Nana's the past few days. The kids have been bonkers. I heard Mr. Aubrie threaten them. A little while later DS3 comes whining into the kitchen.

DS, what is wrong with you?

"Mommy! Dad just won't let us live a little!"

DS has a serious crush. On a 16 yr old.

He tells everyone, "Yeah....she's my girlfriend." *chest all puffed out* "I'm gonna marry her one day."

They had their picture taken a while back and I found it in my files yesterday. Maybe I'm enabling him but darn it, its so cute. I printed and framed that picture for him. He slept with it last night.

OMG thank you for bumping! This is seriously like a journal for me!

In other news, I got DD2 a Princess Jasmine doll the other day. Her shoes are gold, and that's a color we have yet to really nail down, so I pointed it out to DD.

"See, babe? Her shoes are GOLD!"

DD2 (only 2 years old, I swear) looks confused, stares back up at me and says, "No mama, ees new. I just get it."

(We talk about old vs new sippy cups, so she's aware of the concept.)

Thanks for reminding me to write this stuff down, Aubrie!

Hubs and I had GS3 overnight last weekend.

He melts my heart and says, "Grandmommy, I just love you SOOOO much"! I tell him I love him so much too! Then he says, "I love you to the wall and back!"

....well...maybe I'll make "moon" status one day.

Jrazz, I looked on a whim last night and we were 2 posts away from this dropping off the radar. Ack! It would have been devastating!

I'm copying and pasting all my stories right now.

I've been struggling the past couple weeks with DS. He'll be 4 in October. Y'all, he's changing and growing so much. He's developing his own sense of humor, telling stories, can hold a conversation all on his own. He's more independent. My baby is growing. Ahhhhh. My heart is breaking. Why has science not figured out a way to stunt and keep them in this stage of their life for like forever?

Amen! Can we work on that?

Too funny - that reminded me of another GS3 funny. My DH (PopPop) told GS3 he can't grow up anymore (this was about a month ago). So his mommy measured him the other day and said, "Son, you've grown 2 inches!" He got a very upset look. She asked what was wrong. He said, "PopPop said I can't grow up any more!!" A phone call to PopPop (from Mamma Bear) came shortly after.

"DS, get your hand out of your pants."

"No, I'm checking."

"Checking what?"

"To see if it's bigger."

When DS was younger we were forever telling him he could put his hand in his pants when he was in his room alone, but it wasn't something he should do in front of people.

One day DH was at his wit's end and asked DS why he did that all the time.

DS: "Because it makes me feel all warm and cozy!"

I had to leave the room.

@ F2S

I swear, I feel like we are CONSTANTLY telling DS that he needs to go to his room b/c that's something private. So the other day he was in the living room doing a puzzle and he jumped up and ran down the hall. I asked him where he was going and he said "I need to be private!"

And SLAM goes his bedroom door.

Oh thank goodness they're still toddlers, I was worried the thread dropping to oblivion meant they had grown up. I know they say they grow up quick but.... I haven't seen nephew at all this month and I was worried he'd be 15 when I saw him next.

He's 100% addicted to all sorts of video games
(much to my despair). Do I try to keep him off them when I have him, really he's only 3 (also 4 in October).
So I had my phone in my back pocket one day, thinking it was out of sight, apparently not. He points and says "my phone! Now we can play angry birds!!"

Did I mention when I suggest playing a game like hide and seek or a board game, he friend and says "noo, we should play REAL games". (video games) Three, THREE!

Tonight in the car, DS3 hollers in his best Miss Charlotte La Bouff accent, "Gimmi that napkin!"

I passed one back and he starts snorting. I look back and he rolls his eyes at me and says, "I can't get this green bean out of my nose."

Carrots = ear wax
green beans = boogers
