I handled drop off for daycare this morning. As we were getting out of the car, one of the dads was walking out. Very loudly (but I hope not loudly enough for the poor man to hear him), DS says: "Mom! That's G's daddy. He has NO HAIR! Why doesn't he have hair? That's so weird!"

I clamped my hand over his mouth and took him inside where I explained, quietly, that all people are different and some have lots of hair and some don't have any hair.

I know it's probably not a surprise to G's daddy that he doesn't have hair, but c'mon!

This morning DS informed me that it's almost a new month. He wanted to know what "day" was in August. I told him there wasn't a holiday in August, but both Mommy and Daddy's birthdays are in August.

He asked how old we were going to be. I told him 36.

"Wow! That's close to a hundred, right?"

Um, no. But thanks.

I was wondering what happened to the thread....

Ok so the other day IASS asks DD3.5 "How does peanut butter and Jelly sound?" DD replied "I dunno daddy tell me" while I know she was serious I couldn't help but take pride in her potential smart assness. She's making momma proud.

Sunday DS3 had a meltdown. He was holding Nana's hand just sobbing. Then he wails, "I feel something coming out of my nose and I think it's a green bean!" (booger) Nana looks down and sure enough, the snot was pouring.

Today we were out shopping for my nephew's birthday. I showed DS3 some dinosaur gizmos and asked if this was something he would like for his birthday. He shook his head no. Then says very seriously, "I don't want it for my birthday. I want it right now."

*deep sigh*

I don't even know where to start with today.

Maybe I should begin with 7.30am when I heard a weird CREAKING noise coming from his room. I didnt know what the noise was but I knew it was something NOT RIGHT so I threw myself out of bed and raced in there.

It was the bookcase, swaying. With a 2 and a bit yr old PERCHED on the top, wearing nothing but a singlet.
"Eeelooooo Mama" he says, all nonchalant and happy with himself...

And because I am having my LAST AND FINAL EVER IVF egg-pick up in the morning and there are still groceries sitting on the kitchen counter, I wont go into the other 5 dastardly deeds that occured, I will just finish with his very final act of treachery for the day.

I am lying on the couch with my ovaries EXPLODING in my tummy and he is watching Shrek at my feet. Next think he slithers off the couch and says "Deeeeeeenk Mama" He has a drink of water sitting in his little playroom right next to the lounge room and the door is open so I can see the low table with the drink on it. Ok, no worries, he is going to get his drink.

2 minutes later I realise it is a)to quiet and b)to long for him to just be getting his "deeeeeeenk" of water. I roll off the couch and stagger into the playroom.

There he is, naked from the waist down AGAIN, with an almost empty bottle of steak sauce. Steak sauce all over the table, carpet, Mr 2 and a bit, wall, ranch-slider ... "Eeeeelooooo Mama, dink!" says he.

Thanks for leaving STEAK SAUCE in a PLAYROOM Daddy!

MUCH APPRECIATED.

(Wish me luck on my EPU guys)

Oh sammie! Hope everything went well for you.

DS3 was sick yesterday. Started vomiting at 4:30am.

He drank his Pedialyte faithfully, then promptly threw it all up. Over and over. Towards afternoon his stomach finally settled and he was able to keep things down.

He didn't want anything but fruit (no sugar added) bars. When Mr. Aubrie got home, DS announced, "Daddy! Mommy let me have free (3) popsicles!"

Popsicles cure everything.

I experienced Phantom Toddler Syndrome today.

I experienced multiple heart attacks as I drove my pugs to the vet, DD safely at home with her daddy.

Every time I turned my head to smile at her startlingly empty carseat, I'd panic at her absence.

I did it three times in a ten minute drive. THREE!!

I'm going thru crap and packing things up for our upcoming move. I came across a paper DS had done for me this past Mother's Day in sunday school.

My mom is 10 years old.

She has green eyes. She likes butter shoes.

Her weight is 60 pounds and she's 2 feet tall. She has black hair.

Mom prays a bunch of times a day. I think she wears size 50 games shoes.

My favorite book mom reads to me is a big shark book.

My favorite thing to do with my mom is play duck.

If I could do one thing for my mom it would be, clean my room up a bunch of times. (Never happens. Ever.)

Here's the one from Father's Day.

When God made my dad, He made him out of a big piece of steel, it was big! I'm not kidding!

He married my mom because, and that's ok if he married her.

He is 7 years old and is way up like a giant and weighs 50 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He works at a hospital store. He prays a bunch.

I like to play dinosaurs and cars with him. We put alot of gas in that Bronco we have and I'm not kidding!

We went to the zoo and saw dinosaurs and they spit at people, I'm not kidding!

I love you Daddy!

DS4 has been jabbering nonstop since I picked him up from daycare today. The only way I can tell he's done with a topic is his new segway:

"And that's the end of that story. Okay?"

Okay, kid. Thanks for the heads up.

So, I no longer have toddlers, but I suppose this is fitting because of what I am feeling right now. I went back to work in April after being a SAHM for three years. Since then, my heart has hurt...I miss my babies and I hate that I am missing so much now. Example: I completely forgot about Open House for DS1. Now, I am upset at myself b/c he won't get to go, we won't get to meet his teacher, and I will be at work hating it the entire time. Do3K can't even take him b/c we have one vehicle. It makes me feel like a huge failure (this isn't the firs thing I've missed b/c of work). It takes me back to how I felt when they were babies and I had to leave them. Do3K doesn't get it...even though he tries hard to, he just doesn't. My heart literally aches when I leave them for work, I cry everyday b/c I miss them so much (now that they're in school I see them for maybe two hours an evening), and I start dreading work before the time even gets here. I'm a complete mess and don't know what to do

Goodluck sammie!

(((mamma3 kids)))) I wasn't lucky enough to be able to stay home with my d2 after she was 3 months old (my mom watched her so I felt "safe") but I remember how awful I felt once I had to go back to work. I can only imagine how much worse it can feel if you've been a SAHM...... it gets better, you still miss em but you don't feel horrible for leaving...
Now my mom wants to take d2 out of the country to visit family for a month.....I don't know if I can do that....and of course my husband said no, but when my mom asked him , he said " it's up to booboo!" Gee thanks lol

(((mama))) DS has been in daycare since he was 12 weeks old. I remember how awful it felt to leave him - I still hate that I miss so much of his life. I can't imagine being able to stay with him for 3 years and getting used to seeing him every single day, all day, and then just, not.

Thank you for the posts. I *think* I may have found a remedy. My sister works at a long term care facility. They are looking for an Assistant DON and an Activities Assistant. I've been in HC for nine years and have been a nurse for four of those years, so either one would be right up my alley The ADON is full time, but it would be 0830a-5p with some on-call time. The Activities Assistant is a PT 10a-2p (PERFECT work hours for the kids and school) M-F with no call time. Obviously, both have their positives and negatives, but I would enjoy either one I am going tomorrow to put in applications there and then to the schools to put in my app for subbing (nurse and teacher). I also have a temp/seasonal job lined up that I can do in the mean time. I guess I just don't want to disappoint everyone, but after today MY SANITY has to come before disappointing others. I found myself in a full blown panic attack, bawling b/c I don't want to go to work tomorrow. It's just not worth it

About a month ago MIL took DS to the bathroom right after BIL had finished and apparently it didn't smell great. MIL shouted "wooo somebody died in here". Guess what DS has said every time he walks into a bathroom since then.

During church last night we were singing a song that had "Hosanna" in it. DD(almost 7) leans over and said, "Ummm Mom, are they talking about Santa?"

I almost had to walk out because of the giggles. Priorities y'all. The girl's got 'em.

DS4's daycare is doing an end of summer picnic lunch today - family invited. WH can't make it, but I'm going. DS has been talking about it for days.

Last night, he was giving me a hard time about going to bed. I told him if he didn't get into bed, I'd have to pick him up and put him there. He ran past me, muttering "If you aren't nicer to me, I'll find another parent to be my parent at the picnic."

Can I pay someone else to be his parent?
