DS3 loves the show "Max & Ruby". That show drives me nuts. Tonight, DS is insisting that his name is now Max and my name is Ruby. And his stuffed Snoopy dog is now named Pluto. And WH has become Franklin, after the Franklin and Friends show. He won't respond unless you call him Max, which I keep forgetting to do because IT'S NOT HIS NAME.

DD1 my five year old brought home a monster of a cold that is still working its way through our house. DD1 had it first, then DS the almost 2 year old. Finally DD2 got what she was terming THE FEVER. She was very excited, until she learned what having the FEVER actually meant.

Anyway, DS was really down for about 24 hours, just not able to do anything but lay on the couch and look pathetic. I knew he was better the next morning after we woke up and I a saw him trolling the apartment looking for something spectacular to make his triumphant return to the living. He elected to climb his sisters bunk bed and throw his binky at DD1 to wake her up.

You absolutely could NOT take the wrapper off ANYTHING for him. I could open the granola bar or whatever, but heaven help me and anyone within a ten mile radius if I dared to remove the wrapper. That was HIS JOB.

OMG- spewing coffee on my computer. That's exactly what it is.

Except I have three of them staging daily coup d'etats.

Well maybe only 2,the five year old is not clinically insane anymore. She is just turning into a teenager.

She slept all night in her new big girl bed last night.

Yay!!! Our GS (he's a co-sleeper) has told his mommy that he wants a "superhero" big-boy bedroom - we're making progress!

A few minutes later he's sitting there, staring forlornly at his almost full plate. I asked him what was wrong and he said "the chicken nuggets hurt my feelings."

OMG - that is great!

Mommy asks GS what he wants for breakfast. "Candy!" Mommy: "No, you may not have candy, but you can have (list)" GS: "You are NOT making me happy." Mommy: "I'm sorry, sweetie; but candy for breakfast could make your teeth yucky and they will fall out!" GS: "Dat's ok - I get new teef!"

My DD (6!) hates to brush her teeth. She tried to work out a deal with me. "When all my baby teeth fall out and the grown up ones come in, then I'll brush my teeth." Dear, you already have 4 grown up teeth, so you get to brush NOW to protect those. Every morning we do this. Gah!

DD1 and DD2 (the five year old and 3 year old) fight me when it comes to brushing teeth, however DS wants to brush his teeth so much I have to tell him no.

Captain Underpants just went tearing down the hall.

I made a comment in passing about cutting his hair. Didn't say when. Just that it needed cut. A few minutes later he came around the corner in his Thomas undies.

Me: DS What are you doing!?
DS: Mooooom...*eye roll*
Me: DS where are your clothes?
DS: Mooooom....*eye roll* You gonna cut my hay-er! *huff*

Good thing I didn't tell him about the haircut this morning. He'd have been naked all day.

Captain Underpants just went tearing down the hall.

DS had depants'd himself earlier today and I noticed I had to change the diaper. But I couldn't find his pants. Went back to the kitchen to finish cleaning, forgot about the pants when DS paraded back into the kitchen and handed me his diaper. I guess the pants are a necessary distraction to the boy keeping his diaper on.

DS6 will eat anything (except "yucky meat"). He has a hollow leg, I am sure. I have NEVER SEEN a child eat so much, every single day!

DS4 is weird about food. Currently his favorite food is "car-flowers" (cauliflower), which he happily eats raw or cooked. He doesn't want ANY sauce of ANY kind on ANY food. He used to love sauces and gravies and such, now he completely rejects them. Go figure.

Crossbow, my GD3 is like your DS6. She doesn't like to get dirty. Very girly-girl, KWIM? The thing is, she'll GET dirty... and she's fine... until she realizes it. That's when she makes that "ewww, YUCK!" face and insist on being cleaned up.

Oh, and one of my nephews was also quite the "artiste" with the dirty diaper...

DS is obsessed with Qtips. (He knows better and is terrified to use them by himself.) Almost every day he digs in my cabinet, grabs 2, and marches down the hallway, "Mom! I have carrots in my ears!"

I'm thinking an itchy ear constitutes as "carrots".

LOL this morning I remembered a remark that DS6 made when he was 2 or 3:

"Dada, help! My teeth bited me!"

He'd bitten his tongue or the inside of his cheek, don't remember which. I had to stifle my laughter, because he would've been FURIOUS if he thought I was laughing at his toddler crisis.

My poor little eats like a bird. She's tall for her age (28 months) but only weighs 23 pounds.

I don't have any cute stories today but you should have seen the look on her face when I showed her the new Curious George shirt that I picked up for her at Old Navy this weekend. It had George! And he was holding balloons! And the balloons were glittery! She said, "Mommy, George has boons! George can fly!" God I love that stinky little girl.

We're both in our 30s. One awesome 4-year-old daughter.

"Mommy, George has boons! George can fly!

So so cute! I love that DD still calls them boons.

It will be good for me to write down some of DD's latest antics. Her baby book is packed up (we're moving) so this will be my informal documentation.

* DD has taken to saying, "No, mamadaddy" when she doesn't want to do something. It's like, "No mama. And if you let that daddy guy have a say, I'm gonna tell him the same thing."

* Tomatoes have been "Ahtootootoo"s long since after she showed us she could actually say "tomato." The other day, she came up to me and said, "Mama. May-tay-toe is AH-too-too-too. You say now."

* She is always remarking on what I'm wearing. I have a pair of pj pants with cherries on them, ans she always says, "NICE cherries, mama!" The other day I had just gotten out of the shower, and I had my robe and hood on. She says, "Ooh, nice hat! Annnnd.... um, nice jacket?"

* When being prepped for a bath, she enjoys streaking around the house, yelling "Boooty booty toosh!"
