Karen Marie Moning truly introduces her Fever world in her Highlander series--these characters impact the Fever series and do appear there as well.
You can get by with skipping a few of the Highlander books, but the ones that tie directly and are IMPORTANT to the Fever series...
Kiss of the Highlander
The Dark Highlander
The Immortal Highlander
Spell of the Highlander
Into the Dreaming
Barrons is incredibly potent. V'lane is enticing. Her highlanders-- Dageus, Drustan, Cian (all related)--are tasty. And Adam (in a class of his own) is the original bad boy.
D!senchanted, shoot! I am now on the 5th book of the Fever Series. Turned out I had already read the 1st one and didn't care that much for it, but I decided to try again since Lady V seemed to love them so much...
I couldn't put the 4th one down!
I am hoping that I will still get a lot out of the Highlander Series, I love historical novels. Thanks for the response!
Not just magic.
Seriously, somebody else who has read the short story she did about a year ago that was told from Barrons' POV needs to chime in with their feelings about it. I didn't know what to do with my feelings, I need help coping.
I read the Highlander series but was not impressed, felt it was kind of generic. The idea behind the various Druidic things were fine, and the mirrors and such, but I just didn't feel like it was enjoyable enough to slog through when I had all the info I needed about that just from the Fever series. I think I read the other after book two of Fever. Maybe if I'd been reading them all along it'd be different.
The Christian/Ryodan/Dani (so weird) thing is coming out in October. Perhaps Dani will be less annoying, and hopefully of legal age because eww. Ryodan doesn't count because supes don't count, but Christian was grad student age, right? And Dani was 13? That is never going to work for me. How much can they really age her up? Unless they make her 30, a ten year age difference is *gross*. A ten thousand year age difference is perfectly acceptable.

I could go on and on with TMI about how this book made me tingly, , but instead of embarrasing myself right off of these boards I will stick to a great big thank you for the recommendation.
I am only a few chapters into 5. You know that inner battle where you want to rush through a great book because you have to know what happens... but you are trying to slow yourself down and savor it too?
I am giving up on the savoring, but I will be sad tonight around 2:00a.m. when I am finished. LOL.
