The Seven Levels of Intimacy: The Art of Loving and the Joy of Being Loved by Matthew Kelly

BUILD THE STRONG, DEEPLY POWERFUL RELATIONSHIPS YOU'VE ALWAYS DESIRED
We all crave the heartwarming, incomparable connection of intimacy. But oftentimes, this complete, unrestrained sharing of ourselves is too daunting a task. Now, in The Seven Levels of Intimacy, Matthew Kelly explains step by step how to move beyond our fears and experience the power of true intimacy. By achieving each of Kelly's seven levels, we can understand and gain confidence in our partners and ourselves until we are fully able to experience love, commitment, trust, and happiness.

With profound insight and the use of powerful and relatable examples, The Seven Levels of Intimacy redefines the most important relationships in our lives and how we view our interactions with one another. By finally comprehending and experiencing the great depths of intimacy, we can create the strong connections, deep joy, and lasting bonds that we all long for in our lives.

Has anyone read this? I've really been looking at my seemingly life-long fear of intimacy as one of (if not the) biggest broken factors of me. Before my MrWNW all my relationships were with someone "safe". Even my A was. If I didn't think I could fall in love with you, you were the guy for me! What?! Actually, my old defenses kicked in early on in our relationship, but he wasn't having it and helped me push through them. It's why I went from the "I am never, ever getting married" girl to "Yes!" when he proposed.

I've been looking around for a book related to the subject. I came across this one and Fear of Intimacy by Robert W. Firestone. The Seven Levels of Intimacy is more current and has better reviews. So, it's next on my reading list.

I'm curious if anyone has a reading list on this subject. If so, please list the books you found the most helpful or what your thoughts were on this book. Thanks!

I'm reading this bc I'm ready for NB. I find it awesome. A simply put thing. Makes me wonder sometimes if an SI'er didn't write the thing?

It's not Martin Buber or anything, not heavy, & I could kvetch about this or that, still,
it is beautiful. To me.

Strength comes from within. You can't get it from someone or go somewhere to get it. It is already here, waiting to be used when you need it most. Believe in yourself.
