Wilma.

Is it my imagination or is Wilma acting pretty unprofessional? I've seen her stomp her feet, smirk and simper, giggle, roll her eyes, and when an objection was sustained, look over at JM with a, "Nah, nah, you suck! " expression.

NO!!! You are not imagining! I didn't see JA flipping off "Dr. Who-Ever-The-Crap-He-Is" But I have seem Wilma rolling her eyes at the judge!!

Seriously??? WTF??!!

The judge has been VERY patient. Most would not give the latitude that Jennifer Willmott has been granted.

People are so busy over-analyzing whether the prosecution is "too tough" on this hideous psychopath that they've failed to note the real disrespect for the court Willmott has shown.

And don't get me started on Nurmi. I'll just fall asleep.

They are idiots. They should have realized their "expert" is a trainwreck and GOTTEN HIM OUT OF THERE as fast as possible. They can't rehabilitate his testimony----and with every question they ask, they open another door for the prosecution. (Not that this is a bad thing...)

And yes, I think she was deliberately flipping the shrink off. It was not testimony she liked. She has also been shown grinning like an ape during testimony she likes. That's called Duper's Delight; she got him to believe her shit, and can't hide her glee.

I am LIVID that they are dragging Travis through the mud---that Bozo the Shrink accepts the word of a liar and a few salacious phone calls (AFTER SHE'S ADMITTED SHE ENJOYED THE SEX) as evidence of his "abuse."

He was an inexperienced boy who was led down that sexual path by her. And really---discussing fantasies, and even the stuff they actually did ---well. Is it really all that deviant? No. (If so, sign me up for Pervert of the Year.) There is no "poor abused Jodi" here.

I am about as anti death penalty as it gets. I really am---I live in a state where too many on death row have been exonerated by DNA (sometimes AFTER execution), and where there is now a moratorium on execution. I don't believe it's a deterrent. I don't believe it is justice. I really oppose it.

But if there were ever someone who did not deserve taxpayer support in prison for life, it's Jodi Arias. So I guess I am a hypocrite---because I would like to see her become the next woman on Death Row in Arizona.

When it gets there, the sentencing phase will be fascinating. That's when they'll start saying what's REALLY wrong with the bitch. Their song and dance will change dramatically, in the effort to save her life.

I was joking sadtoo. Her name is Jennifer Willmont. But just about anyone watching and commenting on the twitter feeds and such call her Wilma.

They call Nurmi, Ernie. (As in Bert and Ernie) Or Spermi Nurmi because all he does is drone on and on and ON about the sex.

Dr. Whoever-the-crap-he-is is often referred to as Dr. Quack, or Dr. Stupid Samuels.

Yeah, all the clothes matching makes me go Arias should be banned from wearing white. She's a murderer. She sure as heck ain't pure and innocent.

I'm not a fan of the death penalty but at the same time, I don't want Jodi living it up in a prison for the rest of her life. She's already a freaking celebrity in there. All her jailmates sing her praises. She's a regular hero. Not to mention it's a total waste of taxpayers dollars to keep her alive.

I am LIVID that they are dragging Travis through the mud

I don't know if its been said on this thread or not, but the reason they're dragging his name thru the mud is because the Defense tried to make a deal with the State. They wanted off with second degree with credit for time served. State laughed in their face and said, "No freaking way." Defense stomped their foot and said, "Fine. You wanna take it to trial? We're going to trash Travis the whole way."

Such nice folks.

I always giggle when people refer to Jennifer Willmont as Wilma I don't know why, it just makes me laugh & laugh! I used to think she was the more "professional" one on the defense team. Let's face it, Nurmi doesn't stand up when he objects, half the time he's got his finger in his nose...sometimes WHILE he objects & that mitigation specialist that sits at the table behind Jodi, Wilma & Nurmi? Some days I'm afraid she's going to have a wardrobe malfunction! Lately however, I've gotten really irritated w/ Wilma. She objects to speaking objections then stamps her feet when Juan objects to HER speaking objections, I see her rolling her eyes a lot but the thing that pisses me off the most? In the past several days, I've seen her & Jodi whispering to one another (which is fine) and then GIGGLING. Sometimes it's when the jury is entering or leaving the court room, almost like Jodi is pointing someone out to Wilma. SO unprofessional!!

I am BEYOND happy that Dr.Creepy McSamuelPants is off the stand, but I will miss how riled up he gets when being cross examined by Juan Like yesterday, when Juan implied Samuels may have had feelings for Jodi & Samuels slammed his hand down & yelled "I BEG YOUR PARDON SIR!". Oh God, I laughed for a good hour!

Today, Alyce LaViolette, a domestic violence expert, takes the stand. I can only imagine how they'll drag Travis through the mud on this one :(

"I BEG YOUR PARDON SIR!".

Darn it, I missed that.

Yeah he would get pissy when JM would ask, "Sir, are you having problems with your memory?"

Dr. would smart back, "Not anymore than you Sir."

Testy aren't we!?

I've noticed the recent bonding and giggling between Jodi and Wilma. Kind of unsettling. This has turned into a game with them. Sad. How sad that Travis' life is so trivial that they can giggle without a care in the world.

Heh. I like Wilma. I love the way she looks at Juan. Her obvious hate and loathing for him melts the air. Nurmi is *yawn*. He seems almost incompetent. I was wondering, what are the credentials for the defense attorneys? Are they out of their league with Martinez?

Now Martinez. Oh. My. God. Is it weird I find him oddly attractive when he is doing his thing? He is a law machine. He's like the terminator. I loved his accusation of the psychologist having a crush on Arias. Poor Dr. Samuels was so indignant.

If it is weird, we're weird together!! When he gets up there and just lets the law flow in his most passionate way, it's SMOKIN'!!! I know he gets a ton of flack on stupid cable news shows for being too harsh but I adore him. Travis no longer has a voice, so Juan is his voice and for that alone, I love to watch him work!!

What did everyone think of today's testimony from Alyce LaViolette? She had a very soothing voice, I think I nodded off a few times while she went on and on and on and on! Not necessarily her fault though because of the questions Wilma was asking but WOW, she has a lot of stories! Not sure ANY of it has anything to do with Travis, but at least she isn't Samuels!

I think LaViolette's testimony may backfire; I think there's ample opportunity to demonstrate that Travis was the victim of DV, of the dangerous sort that occurs when a relationship ends.

She is soothing (perhaps to a zzzzzzz...fault), but knows that DV goes two ways.

Travis's family looked so upset with the "hypothetical" scenario related to a child of drug addicts; fact is, they were raised largely by a loving grandmother in a large and loving and supportive church community. Their father achieved and maintained sobriety until he was killed in a car accident on Travis's 21st bday.

Tragic, all around.

There have been quite a few times during this trial that I've gotten upset (usually at something Jodi said on the stand) but the quote above? When Wilma started that yesterday, my hands almost started shaking, I got SO angry! Travis, from what I've heard & read, grew up to be an intelligent, kind, successful and generous person DESPITE his upbringing (before he moved to his Grandmas) not because of it. When they panned to his family during that segment and I saw their faces, my eyes filled with tears (perhaps I'm too invested in this trial lol). It's not horrid enough they had to see those autopsy photos, it's not despicable enough that their sexual activity was put on display for WEEKS...nooooo let's turn Travis into an abuser too and blame it on his family!. UGH.

I too think that LaViolette's testimony could backfire on the defense (hell everything does when Juan gets his turn hehehehe). All of those hypotheticals that Wilma used yesterday? They could also be used to describe Jodi's behavior during that time and they would be TRUE. Ms. LaViolette does some excellent, truly credible work for DV victims; it's frustrating and sad to see her as a defense witness for someone like Jodi but hey $300 per hour to testify must be hard to turn down!!

I'm not sure if I mentioned this yet or not but over the weekend, a photo popped up on the Internet & I saw it on the trial message board I post on. What was this photo? It was a picture of Travis' Dad and an adorable young Travis (perhaps age 7/8?) and Travis was sitting on his Dad's lap wearing.....Spiderman underoos. Maybe...just maybe Jodi saw that photo (Travis kept several photos of his Dad around his room & in his closet) and THAT is where she got the disgusting little boy wearing Spidey underwear that she said she busted Travis looking at, laying the foundation for her pedophile claim.

Oops, forgot something I wanted to mention!! There's a reason Wilma had to use hypotheticals when discussing certain events with Ms. LaViolette. There was a VERY lengthy hearing when ALV popped up on the defense witness list, Juan fought like a bear (*swoon*) and ALV CANNOT testify specifically regarding Travis. This is because she did not have an opportunity to interview him, so she can't use the Jodi/Travis relationship to back up any domestic violence claims.

I also saw a funny meme yesterday, which I of course can't find again but I remember what it said!!

How many attorneys does it take to defend Jodi Arias? Two.

How many attorneys does it take to prosecute Jodi Arias? Just Juan

I think the way ALV made it sound ANY argument could be domestic abuse. The way she told the story of the woman who asked her husband to turn off the computer and said that the husband's response was abusive. EXCUSE ME?? Sounds more like normal couples tit for tat, but maybe that is just me. If tearing down someone's character counts as abuse, then I am guilty, because I steamrolled my ex's character while going through my big divorce... to his face and the lawyers. Another thing that stood out was when the defense asked if she ever testified on behalf of a man, and her answer was she was ALMOST called to testify ONCE. And I loved that they had to disclose how much she was getting paid.

300/hour is worth speaking in behalf of a murderer.. oh, and don't even get me started on the word "victim". It occurred to me halfway through that the victim ALV and the defense was talking about was Jodi. And I thought "what about that poor guy with the gunshot to his face? Who is the victim??"

I am curious as to why Juan is letting her go on for so long. I hope he tears this woman apart.

There's a word attorneys use to describe expert witnesses like this. It's "whores."

There are no specifics since the information is sealed. However, she apparently made some comments leading the defence believeing she is no longer impartial and that her comments may have unfairly influence the jury.

Its unlikley there will be a mistrail. At worst, juror #5 will be dismissed and the trial will continue.. but like any controversy of this sort, it will be an argument on appeal.

I think this is nothing more than the defence wanting to get rid of any juror they (on good authority) know will vote against them during deliberations. The trial has gone on long enough for jurors to have already made up their minds.
