I've watched quite a few trials over the years (although I took a break after the Casey Anthony debacle) & one moment in this trial chilled me more than any other. It was the other day when the prosecutor played the VM she left for Travis after she killed him & then made her read an email she sent, also after she killed him. It felt like my blood was running cold & creeped me the hell out!! The VM was seriously chilling. She had this perky ass voice, talking about how sorry she was she didn't visit (yeah right!) & all this other stuff. CREEPY! The prosecutor made her read the email & that's when she had one of her fake crying jags. The look on his family's face during that broke my heart. I've seen some of the pictures of Travis' injuries & there is just NO way this is self defense. As someone else said, if she shot him once, she could have ran away. The brutality (& depth) of the stab wounds, including the slit neck, is just incredible.

I fully believe she went over there to try to convince him to take her to Cancun with him. I believe (of course I could be wrong) that she had a plan in her mind, that if he agreed to take her, perhaps he'd be alive but that she also formulated a plan to kill him if he didn't agree.

I lost a little faith in the justice system after Casey Anthony but I really think the jury will get it right in this case. Even if they ignore all the lies & outrageous stories, there are SO many things, forensic wise, that show this wasn't self defense.

If I remember right, they did find defensive wounds on Travis' arms and hands.

Yes, she killed him but absolutely no way was it self defense. She said zip about the "abuse" until she realized they weren't buying the other stories. One thing I find partucularly telling was the absolute lack of 911 calls after the supposed burglary. When she was telling that one, she never mentioned even thinking about calling the police, either right after or any time after that.

I wonder what her story will change to when she finally gets it through her head that her self defense excuse isn't flying.

You're right Clarissa, he did have defensive wounds on his hands & arms, I remember that being mentioned during the trial this week. It stuck in my mind because they showed the pictures in court & the TV focused their camera on his family, it was incredibly sad.

You are SO right about the not calling 911 after version 2 of her story. Her 1st version was that the last time she saw Travis was in April (LIE!), then while being interrogated, she learned the police had evidence of her being there so version 2 was the burglar story. Then, when that didn't fly, version 3 came out..the he was an abuser & she killed him in self defense. SMH.

She's up there on the stand saying how she was in a "fog" after she killed him & doesn't remember anything but she purposely turned her license plate upside down so she'd either be pulled over or it would be caught on camera & she'd have an alibi about where she was. Come ON! She was obviously thinking quite clearly after she killed him..covering her ass. Makes me ill!

Of course she was thinking ahead. They tracked her through cell phone usage and CC receipts and found out she used neither once she hit AZ. Then there's the VM and e-mail afterward. Both sent *before* she went with the abuse/self defense story. What I saw last night is she had no answer to why she sent them if she knew he was already dead.

The inconsistancy in ALL her stories and the number and types of wounds all point to her having planned it out. That's capital murder and subject to the death penalty. Like I said before, just the wounds made me doubt both the burglary story and the self defense story.

She hated Travis for whatever reasons. The number of stab wounds shows it. You don't stab someone that many times unless you *really* hate them with a passion.

They did NOT find the gun. However, the murder weapon was the SAME caliber as the grandparent's gun.

And yes, TA did have defense wounds. Deep, deep cuts on his hands.

She obviously shot him AFTER the stabbing. They showed a expelled gun casing laying on the bathroom floor, clean and shiny, laying on TOP of a pool of blood.

Accidentally or on purpose, who's gonna be able to then body slam someone onto the floor after getting a bullet in the head.

This ^^

AND she is totally lying about the "body slam." She claimed she "had the wind knocked out of her." then when asked if she had a hard time breathing she said, "I don't remember that....just trying to get away."

Well, anyone who has ever had the wind knocked out of them NEVER forgets that helpless paralyzing feeling while laying on the ground GASPING for breath. The recovery seems to take FOREVER and you're sure you're going to die. The last thing you are doing is running.

Yes, I also believe she went out there for the purpose of killing him. She took the gun, purposely did NOT buy gas in AZ. She rented a car, removed the license plates, pretended that "her phone went dead" when I think she shut it off as to not have detection.

She got there and found that not even her sexual callistenics couldn't convince him to take her with him to Cancun.

She then manipulated him through compliments on his workout results to allow her to take photos of him in the shower. That last shot before the death shots TOTALLY show how vulnerable he was. He was sitting on the shower floor with his knees drawn up this chest, naked, with water running all over him. That last shot shows this AND her foot because she is right outside the shower.

She attacked him with the knife right there. Can you imagine? Being soaking wet, naked and sitting on slippery TILE. And then you have to defend yourself from someone wielding a knife? No matter how "tiny" that person is, you are going to lose that fight.

Apparently he did fight (defensive wounds) and did get out of the shower. He ran down the hall, but didn't get very far. From the blood evidence, he either fell or collapsed within a few feet.

Then she DRAGGED him back to the shower stall and shot him in the face.

Then she heads off to "grind" on some other guy shemet on the internet. But she does stop in the desert to wash the blood off her hands with some bottled water she had in the trunk. And she changes her clothes.

Creep factor.

Then she began leaving the voice mails.

Then she sends flowers to his grandma. Iris' to represent the name of the daughter they would have had someday.

Then the interviews!!

I just wanted to mention the Casey Anthony trial. I was outraged abut it too. But I blame the prosecution for that debacle. They did a horrible job. We all KNOW that she killed that precious child. But you can't charge someone based on that. There MUST be evidence. And juries are far less likely to convict on 1st degree murder with special circumstances that involve the death penalty unless there is STRONG evidence. They should have charged her with a lessor offense. JMHO.

I think the Anthony trial was mishandled as well but what can you do??

Jodi Arias, OTOH, is digging her own grave, becoming the prosecution's star witness. I'd bet she's starting to regret going with the self defense story now. She can't adequately explain why her cell "went dead" before she entered Arizona, she can't explain why she rented a car instead of driving her own and she sure as hell can't explain why she left a VM *and* sent an e-mail when she knew he was dead.

She's toast and her tears will be genuine once the verdict comes down sending her to prison and possibly to the table with all the needles.

We watched her interview last week and she is beyond scary! She is so confident that she's going to get off. She said several times she will walk after the trial. Hope not!

I doubt she will, Crushed. Her story has changed too many times and any reasonable person would question whether so many wounds would be consistant with self defense. I'm sure they'll have expert witnesses at some point but I've watched enough true crime stories to know that the number of stab wounds alone blows the self defense plea out of orbit. Plus, she took the time to move the body and clean up, not completely of course but the evidence is there that showed she at least started the clean up. If you're acting in self defense, you would get out of the situation ASAP, not to mention calling the cops at the first opportunity. So, as I said in an earlier post, the jury would have to be completely brain dead and the prosecutor an absolute moron for her to walk. And from what little I've seen the prosecutor strikes me as having a lot more on the ball than our little "victim". I doubt very much we'll have a repeat of Casey Anthony.

I completely agree, Clarissa. I remember after the Casey Anthony trial, one of the jurors member said they thought the prosecutor (Jeff Ashton) came across as smug & it irritated them. The prosecutor in this case seems harsh sometimes (not to me, but I've seen it said on other forums) but he's REALLY on the ball. He knows she loves to talk talk talk & he lets her hang herself. She spent a significant time in direct examination talking about how her finger was injured by Travis' abuse, not the murder & she walked right into admitting it happened at the murder scene with the finesse of the prosecutors questions.

I don't think we'll see a Casey Anthony repeat, but I never say never anymore. Even my H, who refused to watch the CA trial with me, when the not guilty verdict came out, he said "REALLY!!? She's guilty as sin!"

I quite enjoyed watching the prosecutor work his magic over the past week. I'm completely dreading listening to her attorney again tomorrow as he does his rebuttal. UGH.

They are going to be in session today but it's not on yet. You can also watch it on their website azfamily.com or on the UStream app.

On my guide (Comcast) it's showing InSession from 9-11am, then their new (crappy) programming starts. Last week, I read somewhere that InSession/TruTV is going to a different format, not following trials or only following them for a couple of hours a day. I'm totally irked about it too because they do show it on HLN, but they take a MILLION commercials. I'll just stream online!

You have to switch from TrueTV (old CourtTV)to HLN after "In Session" is over. HLN runs the trial in it's entirety over the next several HLN shows. Your programming will show you are watching:
1) Raising America with Kyra Phillips
2) News Now
3) Making it in America
4) Evening Express

So you start on TruTV and then switch to HLN. It will depend where you are in the country too. I am in Iowa, so I am a few hours off from Arizona.

FWIW, I dvr the whole thing so I can whiz through the commercials.

Yes, Central time.

I have had several different television services. And as long as your have TruTV and HLN in your lineup, you'll get the trial.

It's a snoozefest.

Yep. Just wait tho. They're warming up. Just wait *sniff* till they get *sniff, sniff* to the part *sob* where she has to *boo-hoooo* wear the French maid *sniiiiffff* outfit. (Better arrest roughly 75% of America's male population since costumes are too sick, creepy, and kinky)

Puh-leeze. She had a "relationship" with the guy. Big freakin' deal. Billions of people on earth do it every day. And in much kinkier ways than his "deviance". I have yet to see/hear anything that justified a shot to the face and 27 stab wounds.

What is the relevance of his prior girlfriend(s) and/or his experience and/or whether or not they were church members? Can we please get back on track Defense? Or is that the point? To fill everyone's heads with irrelevant stuff so we forget the tiny little murder detail?

The only part somewhat entertaining was when she told how TA was "sleep sexing" her.

She stopped short of calling it rape.

She is unbelievable.
