Prepare yourselves people. The shy, non-entitled, meek and humble, non-attention seeking Media Whore will be all over your t.v. screens for the next 2 months. Morning and evening interviews. Spouting her drivel. Aren't you excited?

The jury got one thing right. The conviction. She's still up for Murder 1. And Juan Martinez is still in the Alexander's corner.

*sigh*

My heart breaks for his family because they won't be getting their wish of never having to see her face for a long time now.

I am sooo sad!! Does this mean the DP is completely off the table or will they find a new jury?

I hope each juror now watches all the stuff they couldn't before and it sees the real Jodi. I can only hope the next jury will be a solid verdict.

Jury press conference coming up.

Also, some members of the jury were openly crying and one mouthed the words, "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." to Travis' family on the way out of the courtroom.

CORRECTION: No jury press conference. Jury members have left.

Can you imagine being on that jury and having just that one person holding a verdict up.

I know that I would either bust a blood vessel or pull my hair out while yelling at the top of lungs.

Somewhat off topic but yesterday I found out via Jane Velez-Mitchell when she saw a news crew from Japan that they only started a juror system in 2009.

At least they DO have the 1st degree murder conviction. That is the most important part of this. They don't have do to that part over.

And I hope this just lights the fire under Juan Martinez to really go after that bitch in July.

Four for life. Really???? I really can't wrap my head around this. I thought maybe two at the most were the holdouts, but four? I feel they lied when they filled out the jury questions and said they could sentence someone to death. JA has shown no remorse whatsoever. None. She continues to victimize Travis.

Good thing is, Mr. Martinez, from what I understand, can bring in all the interviews JA has given since she was convicted of murder. I am sure he will, too, and makes sure the jury fully understands the evilness of JA.

The foreman had an interview in which he said he believed her to have been emotionally and verbally abused by Travis. He may have convinced three others.
It was maddening to hear the family would have to continue to deal with her in court. I cannot imagine how they are feeling.

I havent watched this trial but reading this thread has kept me well informed of what is going on in it and I read the news articles about it. I personally couldn't sentence someone to DP but perhaps the jurors who were holdout thought they could until the choice and the reality of it was actually in front of them. Perhaps the importance of that decision finally hit them and they realized they just couldn't do it. The family does deserve justice though so I hope the next jurors take that into account and are honest with what they can handle.

We don't have televised court cases or the death penalty in Australia.

To be honest when I was on holidays In the states and first saw the trial which was being covered by a nasty fat little woman who looks like Dog The Bounty Hunters Wife (I think she's some kind of lawyer) I was horrified. Yet somehow I've become enthralled to the point that I look it up online.

It's an awful case, for everyone involved. He treated her badly and she appears to have a personality disorder. I feel for both their families.

They interviewed one of the jurors from that horrific trial in CT where the Dr's wife and daughters were raped, murdered and burned. The Dr was beaten within an inch of his life. It was a home invasion. Absolutetly a horrific, monstrous crime.

This juror talked about the struggles they went through in the jury room trying to decide on the sentencing these men to the death penalty.

You would think THIS case would be a no brainier. Yet even this jury struggled.

It kind of puts it into a different perspective. She said when you sign the paper that you "can sentence" and actually doing it are two completely different things.

In theory, I totally believe in the death penalty. However, you have to be totally honest with yourself. I feel many of the jurors weren't honest. If I was being impaneled on a death penalty case I would have to be honest and say that I didn't think I would be able to actually sentence someone to death no matter how heinous the murder and even though I believe in the death penalty. Does that make any sense?
