peterpan and i had our fourth MC session on friday. it had been a month since our last one as our MC traveled to Australia and NZ for a holiday. we actually forgot about him and this appointment and had to reschedule it once.
we had to fish around for a few last things to talk about. we had just returned from a beautiful family trip to see my dad in florida and watch some spring training baseball. we also recently painted and decorated DD4s room for her birthday with hardly an eye-roll. i even brought up the painting/eye-rolling moment in counseling and we pretty much laughed at it, after realizing we are addressing things well, not taking them personally.
so our MC has scheduled our tentative "graduation" day next month, assuming things keep going as well as they have. he laughed and says he's really enjoyed working with us and seeing a couple that is emotionally intelligent and present with each other. he also said that we "obviously have what it takes to make it good and make it last." he told us in the beginning that he thought we'd be done in 6 or less appointments. we didn't rush or hide anything...we just seem to have arrived already.
so in summary, we hit a couple o' pot-holes, called marriage-side assistance, discovered that the damage was pretty superficial and that the broken parts were easy to repair. nice!! it wasn't even close to totaled, nor did it need a tow or any major repairs. we fixed it right there on the fly with a little professional help. what a sweet little ride
