This makes week 4 of working out after work (2 days so far this week). I've been aiming for 4 days a week, but averaging 3 days. I haven't had any more weight loss since week 1, but it's getting easier to do the cardio workouts. That's a huge plus in the incentives to keep working out list. But I'm thinking it's the 4 or more days that'll get me to lose some weight. I need be more consistent in going 4 days.

How's everyone else doing?

Merida posted 4/30/2014 19:04 PM

well I hate to admit but the BS diet does work better than anything... so been on nutrisystem and down 25 lbs so glad for that :-)

never should've gotten my 5,6"frame over 150 post pregnancy

so was 175 at DDay and now 150 and goal in site of 140 for the summer

all the water and veggies is getting to me, but glad to have an excuse (well wish it wasn't what it was but oh well) to run more

So, this is us today with pants that were snug when we started this journey back in November. Still have a way to go... about 40 lbs to my goal. But as of last Thursday, I've lost 28 lbs!

inconnu posted 5/4/2014 19:39 PM

wow, look at you! that's fantastic!

HFSSC posted 5/5/2014 05:40 AM

Thanks, inconnu! That's the first time we have put on some of our old clothes and it really shocked me.

I had a food breakthrough sometime in the past couple of weeks. I realized that I actually like eating the foods I am eating. I've started to actually like water - and choose it to drink much more frequently. I gave myself a cheat night and went for Mexican food. I was sorely disappointed in everything except the chips and salsa. It was kinda sad, but really good.
Also, my daughter has started youth track and wants to do a 5k color run, so I have better motivation to stick with my exercise.
It has taken 6 months, but I'm actually settling into this new lifestyle. Yay! Also, I'm down 3.4lbs in the last week. 10lbs now from what my driver's license said in high school and 20 from my goal. That goal weight is still 15lbs over the ideal weight for my height on the charts, so I'll see if I want to re-evaluate that when I get there. My BMI is down from 35.1 to 30.7. And my clothes fit great. I put on a pair of uniform sweats from my high school dance team and they fit fabulously (better than they did my senior year).

Jumping in! I went on a health kick after DDay. Lost about 25 lbs. I've been slipping back. The stress is getting to me lately, since finding out more info about SAH. Last week I had significant chest pain and heart palpitations which seems to get worse when I workout.

Today I'm going to a cardiac clinic to get hooked up so they can monitor me for 48 hours. I'm hoping everything's fine and I can get back to workouts. I find it easier to exercise than to watch my food intake closely (I do try though).

musiclovingmom posted 5/14/2014 14:48 PM

Down another 3 pounds. I slacked off on exercise this week due to being ill, but I'll get back in a groove. My biggest problem at the moment, I'm between sizes. 18's are too big, 16's are too small. Thankfully I stay home, so I only have to find a couple of outfits a week that fit just right.

jendo posted 5/18/2014 14:55 PM

I haven't had a chance to read much of this thread, but this is an area of interest for me. I have lost 30 pounds since Dday and am in the best shape I've been in for 12 years. The ONE benefit from an A!!! My WH is definitely noticing too. I would love for the hurt and pain to go away, but the weight loss has been a great benefit. In the past I handled stress with food. For some reason I have the most control I have EVER had of eating and hunger right now. I assume it is because it is an area where I CAN have control- so many other areas are out of my control right now. It does feel good. I love the way I look right now and I hope I can keep it up and drop a few more pounds.

Newlease posted 5/19/2014 16:07 PM

I'm down 17lbs since January. I've hit a wall and can't seem to lose any more. And I'm tired all the damn time. I have been falling asleep on the couch at 8:30 and up at 6:00. So I'm getting enough sleep, but I just don't seem to have any energy. And I'm eating an adequate amount - it's not that I'm starving myself. Meh -

musiclovingmom posted 5/22/2014 13:50 PM

Down a little more. The most exciting thing is that my BMI based on today's weigh-in is 29.8. I am officially out of the obese rating and into the overweight ratings. Bad news is I really need some new summer clothes and absolutely hate shopping. I'm trying not to buy anything much until I'm at my goal.

Merida posted 5/23/2014 10:54 AM

yah for I'm outta the obese BMI catagory at 145

hate the crying jags but loving the endorphins from the work-out routines

yep = it's gotta be that this is like the one area of me I know I can work on and have complete control the easiest so I'll take the compliments from my kids too who are also glad mommy got rid of her baby belly (without lipo- yay)

liking the prospect I will have abs again in a few months (maybe I can shoot for my army-days goal of 130 and ripped... but first 140)

jo2love posted 5/28/2014 09:32 AM

Newlease - Are you drinking enough water? Maybe you are dehydrated and that's making you tired?

Awesome job with the weightloss everyone!!!

I need to work on my portion control. Eating a whole bag (7 servings) of healthy food is not healthy. So today is day 1 of me trying not to be a human vacuum for food. Fingers crossed.

Down another 2 1/2 pounds. On day 5 of a 30 day ab challenge with a group of friends. Also, signed up for and started the IdealShape Up 12 week challenge. They send a week worth of workouts to your email every week for 12 weeks. Plus, there is nutrition advice included in each email. I'm starting to notice actual muscle tone and I can see my collarbones for the first time in forever. Plus, I feel better. Been running with m daughter at her track practices. I don't always tug at my clothes. My confidence has gotten an real boost. 27 more pounds will get me inside the ideal weight for my height.

jo2love posted 6/7/2014 20:15 PM

Congrats, Music!!

I'm down 3.8 lbs.

Dreamboat posted 6/7/2014 22:42 PM

I have to brag on myself. I think the last time I posted in this thread I was in a slump and had a hard time motivating myself to exercise. In fact, I was whining about it. I was being a whining whiner...

Well I am happy to report that I walked longer and more miles in May that I have any month since I started in Jan. PLUS I have walked for the past 13 days strait!

I am down a few lbs, but my goal has always been focused on exercise and not weight loss. To lose weight I know I have to stop drinking and I am not ready to do that. And I probably have to start tracking food which drives me crazy. I start to obsess about what I am going to eat and it is not emotionally healthy. I make spreadsheets and charts and graphs and it just gets out of hand. Which is why I am concentrating on exercise -- I am making spreadsheets and charts and graphs and obsessing about when I am going to exercise. Which works for me because it pushes me to get my ass on the treadmill.

I go to the endo in a few weeks and find out if all of the exercise has helped my HDL numbers. I hope so because that will just motivate me more.

I haven't posted on here in a while. I read a few of the previous posts and it sounds like every one is at least maintaining if not getting closer to their goals.

I haven't been working out exactly but I'm working a lot of hours at work which is a workout in it's self for sure (I'm a landscaper). I haven't been tracking my calories either. I've been needing to eat so much food I really haven't had the time to log all my food. I've basically maintained both weight and body fat% over the last few months which is good.

I want to get back to working out again. I think I really need it more for my mental stability than anything. But I do want to work on improving my abs and arms. I think I'm going to skip legs for now. It just takes too much out of me and I can't walk for days afterwards.

I'm going to shoot for 3 days a week to start and see how I do.

jo2love posted 6/8/2014 17:44 PM

That's great, Dreamboat & Myname!

I've been doing a lot of weeding and gardening. Ouch. It showed me how out of shape I am, but it's a good motivator to exercise.

musiclovingmom posted 6/12/2014 00:42 AM

I'm up 1.2 pounds this week. I'm not terribly upset by that, which is a first for me. I know I ate right and drank enough water. I also know that I upped my strength training in the last week so that weight could be muscle. That, and I'm crampy and bloated. I'm sure that's probably the reason. I am looking better though. There is visible muscle definition in my arms and you can start to tell where there is muscle under fat on my stomach and thighs. I bought 2 new pairs of shorts this week in a size 16 and they fit fabulously (down from a tight 20). I did realize that my stomach and thighs look absolutely disgusting when I'm holding a plank. I'm a lot more wrinkly in that position than I was when I had enough fat to fill out my skin. I really hope that most of it tightens back up. I'd hate to do all this and have extra saggy skin. It is harder for me to look at that and feel positive about my image than it was/is for me to feel beautiful carrying the extra fat.

So I didn't workout this week. My plan was to workout Saturday through Tuesday.

I pulled my back on Saturday so I think it would be best to start next weekend. I hate to make excuses but I also can't miss work.

Weight was a little down this morning but that may have just been some dehydration from working this past week. Body fat % stayed the same.
