My parents came to town this weekend - which meant a lot more eating out. Still, I watched my choices and my portion size and lost another pound (that's down two from last week when I had gained). Today was day 18 of the ab challenge I'm doing and I haven't missed a day yet. Held a full arm plank for 70 seconds. Getting stronger is probably the coolest part of this for me right now. It is awesome to come to a workout and know I can do it instead of struggling through and having to take a break every couple of minutes.
Good job on losing weight while still eating out. That's impressive.
And good for you on sticking with your workout and not missing a day. That is not easy. I'm sure that there were plenty of times that you didn't feel up to it but you stuck with it and did it anyway.

That is one of the biggest motivators for me, being able to do something that I couldn't do 2 weeks ago. I track all my weights and reps when I workout and I try to go up in weight a little bit on every workout.
My first week of P90X I could only do 60 pullups during one of the workouts. He says at the end of the video that "many of you just did 100-120 pullups." I was thinking there is no freaking way some one could do that many. Day 90 I did 120 pullups. I was so proud of myself. By the end of my next round of P90X I was regularly doing a minimum of 150 pullups.
Tracking my progress and seeing the changes in the mirror and on the scale is what pushes me through the hard parts of my workouts when I want to quit.
I'm down 3 pounds.
I've been craving chips, lately. So I've been having sweet potato chips and dry roasted soy beans instead. It helps me get rid of my craving all things crunchy.
Ever since we went on vacation, I have been off my normal eating regimen. Drinking alcohol and eating carbs has my belly bloated and the scale up.
Today, I started my day with a protein shake and melon for a snack. I need all the positive vibes that you all can send.
Have a great day. ((Tribe))
Side tracks happen sometimes.
Getting back on track is as simple as making one good meal decision and then repeating. You can do it. You've done it before.
Protein shake and melon sounds like a good start.

I am doing two protein drinks. One before work out and one after and then I eat chicken at home. No skin and not fried.
I am doing Mens health Hard-Body Plan.
I'm trying to follow the plan where you eat a big meal early in the day and then very light for supper - nothing after 7:00 p.m.
I'm down to 145lbs. I would love to see 140. I started at 165.
Newlease, that's terrific!
Lost, you sound very focused.
What motivates all of you to exercise? I need tips or someone to nag..errrr.. remind me daily.

I'm trying to stay motivated to exercise by knowing that I need to keep up my strength and balance as I get older. It is so easy to loose, and so difficult to get back. It is much better to just keep it going.
I hadn't thought of that. Thank you.
I think I'm going to have DD nag me.
I had my Dr appt today and my HDL is up 4 points in 6 months! That is the most rapid increase I have ever had. In fact, the most I have gotten before was 2 points per year, and I was stuck at the same number for quite a while when I was first diagnosed.
So my treadmill is really paying off. I have only lost a few lbs, but the increase in HDL was my true goal.
not posted for awhile, so came to check in. It is great to read everyone's positive posts! Since March 2nd I am down 35lbs. I hoping for the HDL boost too. I have gotten the better eating choices down now and still use Weight Watchers as a tool. I really suck at making myself exercise. I don't understand why this is such a difficult thing for me.
Keep on trucking everyone!
Great job, Dreamboat & Jadedheart.
Had a couple of weeks where my schedule (and emotions) were completely off normal. Had to travel 1000 miles in 2 days with the kids, teach 5 days of VBS and face the 2nd anti of the only physical encounters of my H and OW that I actually have dates for. My exercise definitely slacked mostly out of physical and emotional exhaustion. Still, I'm down another 1.4 pounds. That's 40 overall and only 25 from being in the ideal range for my height. Jumping back into exercise today because I've noticed that I feel worse now when I don't get it. That's definitely progress!
Struggling with self esteem since Dday. I need to lose 40 pounds and I am almost 6 foot tall so no one thinks I weigh what I do. I need motivation! I am so depressed all the time!
I worked out today for the first time in months. I haven't been happy with the way I look and feel so I'm going to get back on track with regular workouts.
I'm going to do at least 3 days a week but I'd like to do 4 days if possible.
I'm officially off my phentermine. I didn't have any noticeable withdrawal effects and just weighed in 2lbs lighter since I stopped it the first part of July - and that's right after a 3-day family trip (aka food fest). I've got about 22 lbs left to go, but already feel so much better. I actually walked the 2.5 miles at the zoo plus some more at the aquarium and botanical gardens while we were gone. I didn't get winded at any point. We didn't have to stop for me to rest and my feet and knees were not so sore I could barely walk by the end of the day. I thought all of that was just kinda normal. I'm so excited that this is allowing me to enjoy my life and my children even more!
Nice update Musiclovingmom. Seeing progress in yourself is so motivating isn't it?
I reached my goal this week of working out 3 times. I was really tired and not in the mood both yesterday and today but I pushed through it anyway and I'm glad I did.
Aiming for at least 3 workouts again this week.
Just complaining--I was great about exercising until I injured my knee running in June. Took some time off to recover but haven't done some PT, and now my worry about reactivating it is keeping me from getting back out there. I guess nothing ventured, nothing gained? Need to give it a few whirls at short, slow runs and start working up patiently to the mileage I was at when I hurt myself. But I'm annoyed that I was derailed and am going to have to start over/get into the groove again at a slower pace.
I'd like to lose about 15 pounds, or at least stop the weight gain trend I've been seeing the past few months. I haven't had a soda in 2 weeks, I've cut down on my beer intake and have slightly modified my diet at the advice of my sister who is a Registered Dietician. I was thinking about going Paleo, as a fitness freak friend recommended it, but my sister threatened to disown me if I did so I'm sticking with what she told me.
Down two pounds in the past two weeks, so it seems to be working.
