I stayed the same this week. Physically, I see changes. I wish I had measured myself when I started.
I have not measured myself. What should I measure?
Target areas that you're working on.
Ok... that's from my neck to my knees!!!!
Be sure to label your numbers because I didn't and I don't remember what is where from 5 months ago!!!
Little turtle's post about measuring yourself is a good one.
When I started, I took measurements of my neck, chest, waist, hips, thighs, and calf.
I was bummed that I "only" lost X amount of weight, but when I did my measurements a month after the initial ones, I found that I'd lost an inch in my waist and hips, and a half inch from my thighs.
Even when the scale isn't moving, you could be losing inches.
My clothes feel a bit loose somedays.
Then you're likely losing inches (fat) rather than pounds on the scale (which could be water weight).
I am SO happy to have found this ICR thread !
I started the New Year focused on renewing my health - my DD is 2 now, so I can't blame 'baby weight' anymore - LOL! Given everything going on for the past couple of years, my weight has skyrocketed – the infidelity diet did not affect me :crying:!
I started the year at 201 pounds - I have NEVER been that heavy! I want to be healthy for my DD, so I am trying very hard to lose weight and eat better. It can be difficult to go to the gym with a toddler, so I have been trying other activities that include her – taking her to the park, dancing with her, etc. And I have been pretty good (not all the time, but mostly!) about watching what I eat.
I am happy to say that, since Jan 1, I have lost 19 lbs. Unfortunately, I have been stuck for the past three weeks at the same weight - I guess I am in the plateau phase of weight loss. I started C25K yesterday, so I will post back often and let you all know how it goes.
Anyway, having this thread is great - I am so glad that others who have gone through the same life challenges are committing to themselves and their health!
Sorry – didn’t mean for this to be such a long post, but I am really excited to share with others on a similar journey !
I hope you have much better luck than I've been having...
Maybe see if you can up your activity to get you over the plateau.
Is there a gym in your area that has a child care/play area that's supervised and doesn't cost an arm and leg? (although an arm and leg would be a step towards weight loss )
psst, jrc - if you're still using myfitnesspal, there's a place you can record your measurements.
Unfortunately, no gyms nearby have childcare - I looked into that a while ago, but no luck.
I am planning to up my workouts with C25K and 10 minute fitness (Tony Horton's new set of videos). Just did the first video today - holy moly it was hard...lol! 10 minutes was MORE than enough, thank you very much! Hopefully I will work myself up to the recommended three 10 minute workouts per day
I hate PMS or whatever it is that causes me to want to eat NON-STOP right now...
Seriously, can't seem to put enough in my mouth.
stayed the same.
Although I am sitting at my desk, typing here, and eating b-day cake!!
Down .5 lbs.
No change last week or this week. I think part of my earlier success and my recent problem is that I had a goal and achieved it and now I don't have a specific goal in mind. Will have to change that. At least it wasn't a gain...
No change for me this week either, and I've already hit the PMS eating like crap phase for this month. If I don't rein that in, next week's weigh-in will not be good...
I've also been really bad about logging into myfitnesspal and maintaining my food journal, so that's my goal for this week. Plus exercising. I actually did get on my exercise bike for a bit today, and it didn't kill me. So that's a start. Tomorrow I plan on starting over on the strength training routine I started last month, too.
