So, my D Day was November 15th, 2009 and I was signed up to run my 1st ever half marathon race 6 days after I found out about my XWH's A! I didn't eat much at all that week..... didn't run at all that week.... but came to the realization that after 3 long hard months of consistent and dedicated training....I would be DAMNED if I was going to let him ruin what I had planned! So, I ran it.... with faith, hope, heart, and prayers as my fuel! (cause I certainly had no food in my system!) And, all considering....a time of 2 hours and 3 minutes was pretty impressive to me and I DID NOT WALK at all! That was my goal! And, I accomplished it!
Then, on April 30th, 2011.... what would have been my 6 year wedding anniversary the year after my divorce.... I not only ran my 1st FULL marathon at the Country Music Marathon in Nashville, TN, but I also PR'd with a time of 4 hours and 39 minutes!
Now...this Saturday...is going to be the toughest road half marathon I have ever run....it will be my 4th half....and it just happens to be on April 20th....which was the exact day 3 years ago....that my XWH left me for the very last time. And, the 2nd to last time (besides the day he asked me for the divorce) that I actually saw him, spoke to him, and hugged him goodbye. I remember how devastated I was.... I wanted to die... I felt as if my reason to live was walking out the door! And, now .... 3 years later...I'm going to take that weak dependent girl I was then....and introduce her to the strong, independent, unrelenting woman and mother that I am today! And, I'm gonna conquer that mountain and leave MOW in my happy dust!
Running has always been my happy place....the place where I can truly tap into my inner strength...physical as well as emotional/mental....and this weekend will be no different! I might start out using my legs....but I will finish with my heart!

Thank you! I've found so many positive things by doing something as simple as lacing up my running shoes and hitting the pavement! There is no time when I feel more free and capable of anything I set my mind to! I'm ready to have a good race! (whatever that entails!)

Wow! I had to read this a couple of times. I thought it said you did a 4 minute marathon! You really are a super woman!
