I just got blown off by my mechanic who was to work on my car today. We have had this appt for a week and now he is too busy. This mechanic knows the breaks are real bad and I will once again be driving this car any day as wb is taking the truck

After using this guy for 8 yrs and being blown off Im pissed. My former downstairs neighbor works on cars. I just need to have the parts. What parts do I need to buy for him? Probably will include rotars

Yes there are other mechanics but they are further out. I dont have time to take off a day. So im asking exneighbor

You can just go to the auto parts store, give them your car info and they can look it all up for you

You probably just need rotors, pads and brake fluid. There are more parts (Master Cylinder, Power Brake Booster, calipers, ETC.) but if it's just a standard brake job (ie. they're squeaking or grinding), you shouldn't need any of that stuff. You might not even need the fluid, come to think of it.

Ty. Unfortunately I think its the major stuff. Six months of riding bad breaks (wh) means I worry the car will stop.

It's rather uncommon to have a big failure in the brake system. If you run them on worn pads and rotors for too long, they can crystallize and seize up. You probably just need the pads and rotors. You also need to have someone check the rear. The rear doesn't wear anywhere near as fast as the front, but they do need to be checked/changed periodically.

Find a reputable mechanic and have the work done properly. Brakes are not something you want a half-assed job done on them and risk an accident, or worse- especially with kids in the car.

The chain garages all do brake repair and you can take the car in and wait until it's done, they're often open late.

My office mechanic felt bad for standing me up yesterday. He picked the car up around 1030.

Its B A D. Pads, roters... I think cylinders. Then there is something bad about the back end. Something about a wheel and needing a part he finally found in california. Im thinking 800 to 1000 in repairs.

I asked wh about why he didnt fix the breaks. He said they felt fine to him .

Last winter when I told him something was up, he said he didnt have time. Bulkshitzky. He had every other monday from 830 to 1pm free. He chose to go elsewhere (to explain would put this in gen)

Yep he is helping pay. 50% minimum.

Dumbass!!!!
