I have been raising these two tortoises. The come from the Northern Sahara and will get to ne over 100 lbs. the currently weigh in at about 10 lbs each and are about 18 months old. The y are named Cheech and Chong.

Tortoises are eating machines and can devour several pounds of grass and other greens per day!

Here is Cheech

And his brother Chong

How cute! I had a friend who rescued injured desert tortoises in southern AZ.

No pets at all right now, but I guess my weirdest were sugar gliders--sort of a flying squirrel (more like a chipmunk) from Australia and New Guinea. They were Luke and Leia. We also had an iguana named Neon, lots of parrots, guinea pigs, a ferret, a cat and many dogs over the years.

Right now if I could, I'd have a pygmy hedgehog and a skunk.

I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.

Wow! Those will live to be over 100 years old, won't they? Hope you've enlisted your kids and grandkids to take care of them eventually?

Yes, thaey have the potential for living past 100 years although most in captivity don't make it past 75. My daughter will get them when I vacate this planet, she really wants them now! I actually have a trust fund set up for their care when I die, they will eat good for years!!

Yeah everything but the cat is caged.
It's been years since I've had an escape. Stopped using THAT cage

They do the same in Texas. I have a friend that had an infestation in his house. I have been stung twice by these guys and they kinda hurt.

The Tarantulas are awsome, the chicken cat kind of scares me.

This is awesome. We have had a huge decline of bee's here in Texas over the past few years. I guess it could be from the drought but my chile pepper plants and Mt Laurels sure miss them! Seems all we hear about now here is the "Africanized" variety.
