I took a half day on Thursday and all day Friday off, so I could have a really long weekend. I came in to work this morning to find someone had gone through every stack of paper on my desk. Nothing was where I left it.

Checked with my boss to see if he had been looking for something he couldn't find. And he said he had been putting things on my desk, but not going through anything.

Turns out the office drama llama took it upon herself to "organize" my desk for me. She was just "being helpful" she says. passive aggressive, nosy-ass bitch!! she's lucky I didn't show her where she could stick those file folders of hers.

Oh no she didn't!

oh yes, she did. and then she spent the rest of the day pouting because I didn't jump with joy over the "nice" thing she did for me. or maybe it was because I was noticeably pissed off.

shit, even my boss mentioned that drama llama would have thrown a fit if someone did that to her desk. she doesn't even like it if we pick up stuff from the printer that she printed.

so I'm sure, somewhere in her P/A head and heart, it's all my fault for not understanding she was just trying to help.

thank god this day is over, and this week is a short one.

It got so bad at my job that everything was organized into folders. I had about 10 of them packed to the gills that got locked in a drawer before I left. Every morning I'd take them out to my desk area and every night they got locked in my drawer. I got tired of people going through my work and losing my paperwork.

I'm getting ready to return to my workplace tomorrow, and I have the same problem - I sit in a semi-public area, so all kinds of people that I DON'T KNOW are at my desk, all the time.

This time, before I went on vacation, I literally took everything on my desk and locked it up in my coat closet. There isn't even a piece of paper laying around. The worst thing that'll happen is that my computer will be turned off (another pet peeve of mine, but I can't lock that up too, heh).

Let's see them try and use the stamp pad all over my desk calendar now. (Yes, this really happened.)

If she's not a supervisor or directly involved in your job, I would make a complaint to HR. Otherwise, lesson learned--everything gets put away and locked up before a planned vacation.

You need finger print dust. Put it in some key places when you leave, but wipe it off when you return. It's really hard to see, but if you get it on your oily hands, it turns black. Imagine the nosy office person with a big black ring around one of their nostrils they are completely unaware of.

I would have to use a Jumpo Trainer hidden under some papers everytime I left my desk.

so today I found some new stuff (from last Thursday afternoon after I left) in the middle of some of the papers I'd on my desk for weeks.

seriously, who the fuck organizes papers, puts them in a folder, but puts the new, urgent stuff in the middle?

I love the finger dust stuff. I say do it.

What baffles me on this thread is why it is okay for another person/people to go through you stuff. I thought that wasnt allowed...well, if someone else needed papers you had but that person would let you know but note or verbal.

Why didnt the boss tell drama llama to leave your desk alone and go do her own work? If she has time to "straighten" your desk she needs another project...or they dont need her.

Since she fouled up your work can you take her into the bosses office and let her know she needs to keep her hands off your work

Time to be my own bff.
