I have to say, having just overheard a few women my age "encourage" their friend on the metro, that while my relationships may not always be perfect, I can hold my head high today and be proud that no one has ever felt that need to tell me what they told her. "You're a super fun girl, and he will see that. It's okay to let him take you out and then show him a good time afterward!"
I am proud to be known among my friends as intelligent, caring, and a woman of integrity. I like who I am.

I'm no expert on the rules of the game, but I'm pretty sure that means you won.

I mean, am I outta line? I would be so offended if my friends suggested that the most I have to offer a guy is my ability to "show him a good time"

Their comments may have been more of an indication of their own"qualities" than they were of hers. No matter, it's still sad.

I would be offended as well. I can't imagine my friends ever saying anything like that except as a joke.
