I was just searching for an answer on why someone refuses to apologize for wronging me and came across this. I can totally relate this to my exWW and possibly this other person. It's worth the read:

Thank for posting that. At first I didn't think Jerkface McGillicuddy was NPD. Just thought some of the stuff he did was normal human nature and he was just extra selfish. Then I started thinking he had NPD tendencies but not really NPD. And most recently I've realized, HOLY HELL HE TOTALLY IS!! Those first few pages ARE HIM.

I know the ex has zero empathy. Several counselors have told him so, and I can see it so clearly. Sometimes I wanted to scream at him "don't you understand how much you hurt me????" but it would have done no good because he has no empathic capacity at all.
I never got an apology either.

After reading this I think I'm dealing with a narcissistic, passive agressive, sociopathic muppet.
No apology for me either - I know, SHOCKING!

If you think you are dealing with a Narc. There is a page in the I Can Relate Forum called NPD, there is a lot of wisdom on those pages if you read.
I trust you is a better compliment than I love you, because you may not trust the person you love, but you can always love the person you trust. - Unknown

When you realise that your ex or so or WS is a narc, much easier to understand why they do what they do. Understanding is what we what from them, being a narc gives us the answers. All we wanted was for them to understand, but all they wanted was what was good for them. Now we have what is good for us, them gone.
