We leave tomorrow. 9 hours on a bus with 4th and 5th graders. A teacher who has threatened to take our phones away if she catches us talking/texting. Did I mention 9 hours on a bus with 4th and 5th graders?

OMG! You POOR thing.

Do you have some Prozac? They say it's bad form to drink in front of the young ones, but you could pop a little pill to keep from smothering them, right???

Sending strength and peace - you're going to need it.

Just remember it could be worse like 9 hours on a plane with 4th and 5th graders.

YES! The grown-ups! This teacher scares me. During the planning meeting, I felt like I was back in 4th grade.

Oh god. When I saw you were coming to DC, I thought I'd offer to meet you for lunch or something.

Buuuuuut.... you're not worth enduring 4th and 5th graders

She would never let me come out and play.....lights out at 10PM......and she does room checks.

But if you happen to see a large group of children, and a bunch of adults that look like .....that would be us.

And this is the reason I quit smoking. I was dreading this trip because I knew I wouldn't be able to smoke for most of it.

That would have been bad, bad, bad.

There were other reasons I wanted to quit but this trip was what pushed me to finally do it.

You need to make a survival pack -

- earplugs

- tylenol and/or aleve

- book (will the teacher also have a fit if you use your phone/tablet to read an e-book?)/puzzle book/craft (crochet, cross stitch)

- earplugs

- stress ball (one of those spongy squeeze balls)

-earplugs

- hard candy (to crunch between your teeth when you really want to kill someone)

- did I mention earplugs?

Good luck!!!

Edited to change "alive" to "aleve".... stupid spell checker....

I am very compliant with teachers and rules and the like but the teacher threatening adults is way over the line. It seems like she needs a lesson in humility.

And I am not. I'm very conflicted. I want to be a good example for my GD and the other little girl who will be sharing our room.....but I've considered bringing flashlights so we can stay up late to play and not get caught.

A good example would definitely bring a flashlight and some games...and teach them crazy songs!
