Random, I don't understand that either.

Falling, I hope my previous post didn't ruin anything for you.

The only book that I read that they just about changed everything in it but I liked both book and movie was The Pelican Brief.

Watchers was horrible didn't even recognize it from the book.

Sphere was a good movie but liked the book better.

I didn't read the book but I really enjoyed last nights episode.

Besides I've had a crush on Jeff Fahey for years

The first pages of the book was Barbie walking out of town when the dome dropped and a gopher was cut in half, not a cow.

Barbie worked at the Sweetbriar was a cook and at one point was beat up by Junior and his friends, so they did obviously know each other.

Duke's pacemaker exploded when he walked up to the Dome the first time. They could talk to each other through the Dome and Junior didn't lock up Angie in fallout shelter.

So far it's not lining up with the book. Needless to say I'm a little disappointed in it.

If I didn't already read the book I would say, as far as action and trying to hook the viewers, it's good.

The only reason that I am not ripping the TV 'movie' to shreds is because Stephen King is actually highly involved in the production and has Ok'd all the changes. In fact, I heard that he thought the cow scene was brillent and loved the idea instantly.

I am trying to tell myself that people who watch TV need different types of suspense and action to get sucked into the show, then book people need suspense and action to get sucked into a book.

I personally like Junior's character thought - creepy how well he's playing Junior at this point.

That's why I said ^^this. It has a lot of action from the start, just like the book did, but it veers of course from the book that I spent my night saying "that didn't happen in the book."

I thought the book's opening was fabulous! Full of action and getting right into the thick of it. I just don't understand why it was changed so much.

Jennifer99, it will be available on Amazon Prime streaming starting June 29th, I think.

I thought it was pretty good. Granted, they did make some changes, such as implying that Duke Perkins was a bit corrupt and Barbie as somewhat shady but over all not too bad.

My thought is that it may be like The Dead Zone, same characters, same setting and some plot points but essentially its own story. I thought The Dead Zone, I thought, was a good series despite it really having nothing in common with the book.

There seems to be a lot of changes from the book. And I'm surprised they haven't delved into one of the very important aspects of the book (You know what I'm talking about if yo read the book) after 4 episodes. I know it's been hinted at, but I thought you find out much earlier in the book.

All in all, I'm enjoying the series. My BH, who hasn't read the book, likes it a lot.

PS. The cow footage gets me every time!

me too.

again.. agreed.

as a stand alone concept, it's perfect for tv. from the perspective of a constant reader, it falls short.

I'd imagine it would be hard to convey the book to script, even with King being involved with the process. imo, none of his works, other than Green Mile, Misery and Stand By Me, have cut the mustard on the big or small screen in comparison to the books.

I watched the first two episodes, then set the box thingy to record the series. will probably have an all day watch marathon when it's all said and done.
