We all love seeing other members and showing off our loved ones. Due to the nature of this site, anonymity is very important to many people. If you're worried about someone finding you here, please be aware that it can be easy to track photos posted from Facebook or the popular photo sharing sites through their properties.
We're asking that everyone be aware of this, and take extra steps to protect yourself. An easy way to do this is to start a photobucket account with the same username you use here on SI. That way others won't be able to find you easily.
SI is a popular site with a lot of lurkers. Be safe people

You can also set your photobucket account to "private" so no one else can see it without permission.

And if you are taking a pic with your phone, don't forget to turn off the GPS first, or remove that info on your computer before you post.

^ Just curious... Is that GPS info accessible when one reposts phone pics from photobucket?

I like to use TinyPic
http://tinypic.com/
It's anonymous and even has the ability to resize your picture for a forum posting.

Question about tinypic---
Once you upload your pic and it says 'grab your code', how do you do that? I can't find where to copy the code for forum posting.
DS, you are forever in my heart. Thank you for sharing your beautiful spirit with me. I will always try to live by the example you have set. I love you and miss you every day and am sorry you had to go so soon, it just doesn't seem fair.

I have never seen a screen that says 'grab your code'. I just tried TinyPic, and after uploading my picture I get the screen below that says, Share This Image, followed by the multiple links for posting to various types of web sites. For SI, I choose the BB Code format under: IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards
If you right click on the picture above and select Properties, all you will see is the following URL for TinyPic, http://i42.tinypic.com/73p1mb.jpg

Okay, for those who can't find the img code for their pics, here is the shortcut I use for mine, and pics on the web.
Open just the pic by itself in a browser. If it is a google images selection, choose view original image, for your own it will vary depending on service. This leaves a browser window with only the picture showing and no background or web page.
Copy the URL from the browsers address bar.
Paste that URL into your post, then highlight it and click on bold to make it bold.
Now edit where it says bold inside the little tags, changing them to img.
Stick a fork in it because you are done.

I open the pic in a window all by itself and then just right click and choose "copy image location" then paste.
Done.

I had both mine and H's on Private settings on the "old" Photobucket. A few months back, Photobucket changed its whole look and setup and we had so many days to transfer everything to their new site.
What I didn't do was check the Privacy settings. I just did!! And they were on Public!! So I changed both of our accounts to Private.
If any here have not done so, check this out on your new Photobucket.
