And I blew it. Big time. A friend was telling me a story about a mishap with H's swimming suit during class in HS (14 years or so ago). She swears it was him and that the teacher swears it was him too. He swears he was never even near a swimming class during HS. I lnstead of believing him and letting it to, I threatened to call and have his transcripts sent to the house to prove he was telling the truth. We had a pretty heated discussion and now the whole house is super tense. I feel like such a jerk.

Hey...I can relate...taking a nothing event or statement like this and turning it into a gut wrenching step backwards.

This is where both parties need to exhibit resilience, patience and forgiveness....which can be really tough! Actually...haven't found much about this journey to be easy.

Hang in there kid....expect to stumble again. I am stumbling as I write this so take my support for what it is worth.

God be with us all.

Welcome to Bat-shit crazy huh?

IMO this sitch has nothing to do with trusting your H. It was an event from high school…14 years ago! People's memories fade and different people recall events that others don't. I would let your H know that you are sorry for going a little loopy. Unfortunately his actions have brought you here, so he's going to have to understand….this is your new normal for right now.

We have enough to stress about during R, don't beat yourself up over it.

Thanks for listening. I did calm down and process a little and then apologized to my H for over reacting. Explained that it still hurts deeply that I have to question the truth of his words even in insignificant things. Also, I shared with him that part of this was most likely misplaced since we are coming up on some really tough days for me.
