TCD, that sounds like fun! I know even the very young babies react to music. One of my grandsons got really excited when he heard certain tunes by 2 months, because we acted out things with him, like "Itsy, Bitsy Spider" or "Head and Shoulders, Knees and Toes". He would start kicking, smiling and watching our hands.

HUFI, you've done everything! As my kids tell me about all I've done, you must be older than dirt!

NIK, Yes, indeed, riveting! (but we need a thumb-twiddling icon)

I work from home full-time as a medical transcriptionist for a large chain of hospitals and trauma centers in my region. There's quite a few of us, so the hours are extremely flexible, which allows me to focus on my main job, mommy to 2 wonderful boys

I agree, stroppy-wanadoo. I've been in some of those companies and it seems people always resent me for something!

ETA: Of course, it may have been because I have told some that I get a 50% discount by being an employee.....

I'm an executive assistant to a VP at a college. Love the job, love my boss, love the students - it's never boring. Prior to that: admin assistant in another college department, office manager and technician in the financial aid office, data entry and processing clerk at an accounting firm, investor reporting specialist at a major bank (most boring job I ever had), Kelly services temp, traffic analyst at NSA, communications analyst in the USAF, various fast food jobs in high school. Geez, I am old and I moved around a lot.

Actually, I work for the NSA so for me, at least, this thread is entirely unnecessary.

I'm an accountant at a manufacturing company. It's kind of a small company, so I get to do so many things. I love it.

Currently I'm an admin assistant/AR for a document storage company. I may rival NIK for the most exciting job listed here.

I did customer and tech support, customer training, and managed the company social media pages at my previous job (a small software company). I'd really like to get back into training and/or the social media aspect, if I could, but this time for a company that can afford to pay me what I deserve.

Gaby, me too! Except army instead of af. I am still a lab tech, working on becoming a physician's assistant. My secondary duty is harassing all the russians I work with.

Seems I'm one of the few blue collar workers who's posted so far.

I work at the midwest distribution hub for American Honda, packaging service parts. So, if any of you from the midwest have (or had) a Honda, the parts to service it probably came through the company I work for. My current position is production line lead. All that really means is I get to decide which jobs are done when of those staged behind my line.... and get the blame if something gets screwed up whether it was *my* screw up or not. I'm now 4th in seniority after 18 years employment.

My first job, at 13, was running a 40's era switchboard (think Ernestine or Radar. THAT kind of switchboard). My duties in that job included keeping a log of all outgoing calls, placing the long distsnce calls and in-house directory assistance.

I loved that job. Pay sucked but at the time I didn't really need the money.

I started out working at White Motors and then TRW, both as an expeditor. I then got tired of getting laid off all the time and got into sales because my then girlfriends father told me to cause as he put it - "You're so full of shit you'll make millions!"

So I went to work as a sales manager of an ice machine distributor. I then discovered that being an independent rep in the food service industry was where the money was at so I went out on my own and started a sales and marketing business. Did that for 25 years until I blew my back out from traveling and was forced to go on disability.

I am now retired, almost divorced and living life *LARGE*. Oh, and I'm also grandpa to 3 beautiful boys 3, 7 & 12. That is the best job I've ever had in my life.

Harassing the russians because i am learning russian as my third language and i was thrilled to find six of them working at my new job last year, they are all helping me. My phone is on a mission to get me arrested by submitting posts and texts at the worst point.
