Ants in your kitchen sucks.
Aunts in my kitchen would be awesome.

I had a long and persistent trail headed up to the roof of my condo for weeks, thought they might be after a dead bird so I thought it best to leave them be. The cinnamon trick sounds like the perfect solution for the stragglers.

Well....depends on which aunts. Most of them would be awesome, but there are a couple that I wouldn't want to see crossing the line of cinnamon...

I think they are coming from the parrot food. They are all around the bird cage.

Do you freeze your bird food? That kills the eggs of the moths. This took care of the moths immediately when I had birds.

No I haven't tried freezing the food but I'll stick it in the freezer tonight. We have the bird food in containers with snap lids so I think it's from the stuff the African Grey tosses out of his bowl (he's picky that way...).

We have fly strips up that have caught a lot of them and we are cleaning the cages every other day.

I tried diatamaeous earth. Sprinkled it around the entrances and around the laundry room. 90% of the ants are gone! It has also taken care of the flea problem that started. Joy of living beside a barn full of cats is having them hover around the house looking for food. Shortly after we started leaving the front door open with just the screen door I noticed the cats scratching. Sprinkled DE around the house and on the cats and vola! No more fleas. This works only on adults so I'll be doing it again but I like it :)
