Almost 18 months, I embarked on the screening mammogram crusade of my life. At that time, I was the clinic manager of community health center with 1 free screening mammogram event whenever the county hospital decided to play nice neighbor. After much struggles with the local for profit hospitals and one deal with the breast health tyrant, I was able to secure three free screening mammogram events per month and a few diagnostics as well. Anyhow, I got promoted in January so I don't longer over the breast health program at the clinic on a day to day basis but as the Access Manager I must be included in the reports. Guess what? Our annual report shows that 2 women had successfully completed breast cancer treatment and currently in remission thanks to early detection Needless to say, I started crying like a fool when I read the report. I know that in the great scheme of public health 2 cases are not statistically significant but I can't help to feel on top of the world

You should be on top of the world... you can actually know that you made a difference in 2 peoples lives - not to mention those that love them.

Awesome... YOU are my hero.

I trust you is a better compliment than I love you, because you may not trust the person you love, but you can always love the person you trust. - Unknown

That is wonderful! those 2 women don't think it is "not statistically significant"

I need not suffer in silence while I can still moan, whimper and complain.

If this isn't what I consider soulmate crap, I don't know what is.

Congrats!!!!
Not statistically significant? I bet their loved ones have a differing opinion.

Isn't it great when we can help people who really truly need it, and they have great outcomes?

Being a Care Manager now, I get to do similar things on a nearly daily basis. It is awesome!!!

Thanks SI peeps! I love my job and the difference it makes in the community but sometimes it is so hard to feel like we're really making a difference, especially when the reports start with "while the project has not achieved..." Blah, blah, blah! It's two women, we should be writing "Yay"
