So....Triathalon dad and I planned our 2nd date for tomorrow night. We were going to go bowling and maybe get a drink beforehand. BUT....he had to cancel because he has to get a report done before he leaves town on business. He is very busy. I know I probably won't get to see him for at least 2 weeks or so cause he will be in Atlanta from next Weds to the following Weds and he has is son the weekend he comes back....

Oh well... was just a little disappointed today because I was looking forward to getting to spend a little more time with him. But, I also understand what its like to be busy....so I'm trying to take things with stride.

He said he would like a raincheck...so I will take him up on that. Just going to take things one day at a time...

I've been lurking and watching for an update from you, lol. I'm happy for you on the 2nd date but sad that it is now postponed.

I know it's disappointing for you. I think there is a saying that goes good things are worth waiting for

Just think you don't have to paint your toes or shave your legs for a few weeks haha!

About a month after I met GDM, I left for a week to take my daughter to college. The timing was great--he had a chance to miss me.

When I saw the title of this thread I thought "Crap, Shelley's date wasn't interested after all."

I understand your impatience, but on the bright side it sounds like things ate on a good track so far.

That's true! Is it crazy how nice it is to get excited about a date again? I can't remember what that felt like! Today I was running on the treadmill at my gym (before he had to cancel) and I was all giddy....and the song "22" by Taylor Swift came on and I was on this silly teenage high about how excited I was to feel excited again about seeing someone! But, I'm also keeping things in perspective and happy that this is going at a nice snails pace! I need slow and steady!

Just think you don't have to paint your toes or shave your legs for a few weeks haha!

Well....my toes are painted... BUT..I totally didn't shave my legs in the shower today!

I know he is a busy guy...but my gut also tells me that I can tell that he likes me too. We talked on the phone on Friday night....and even though we didn't talk long (cause we were both tired....LONG week!) he told me it was nice to hear my voice...

Oh...and he joked about how he liked the shoes I wore at our 1st date! (which is kinda funny cause I regretted those cause they had made me so much taller...like eye level with him! Who woulda thought he would have liked them! )

Oh.....and not completely off topic...but...he closed down his match account.... (but hasn't said anything to me yet...)I'm "assuming" it was not because of me...cause we only had one date but I find myself almost feeling guilty for still checking mine... thoughts??

Not that I'm really talking to anyone else... and would like to see where things go with him...

Well if he shut his account down I think that means he is really, really digging you! Can you put yours on inactive status instead of shutting it down?

I'm so excited for you! I was going to say too that him being gone gives him a chance to miss you.

Okay....I did it! I made it "hidden" from view! It felt weird to keep it active when I am really more interested in seeing where things might go with Triathalon dad. I'm not in a rush and actually like the slow pace we are going.... plus...I'm just a "one person at a time" kinda girl! I've never been good at serial dating...just doesn't feel natural to me.... now I'm just going to sit back and enjoy the ride... keep concentrating on my daughter and myself...and see where this goes...
