Hey! Sorry I haven't been back yet. We went to the ocean yesterday and it gave her more relief than any medication so far. I think we're going to go back today.
So we had our pediatrician appointment, and her O2 was 99 and the doc said despite her cough her lungs sounded much better when she was just taking a breath so that was a good sign.
She wants me to continue the budesonide for a while. I asked about singulair and she was like, "Sure, let's try it."
I got the meds and came home and read the "side effects" panel and had a coronary.
New question for those of you who tout singulair - did you ever observe the marked mood changes that are listed? It literally listed them with the verbiage, "Patients have experienced mood swings, suicidal thoughts, anxiety, aggression, depression, nightmares..." etc etc.
I know that with every type of med comes a risk of side effects, but I've already watch my DD's mood swing so heavily on 3 days of steroids, that I imagine she's susceptible to this as well. Obviously we won't know until we try, but to say I'm reticent is an understatement. Thoughts?
