It does an awesome job. I use it with my Clarisonic. No clogged pores or break outs. Stuff is awesome for me.
'til the roof comes off. 'til the lights go out. 'til my legs give out, can't shut my mouth
especially around that time of the month (not to mention homicidal but whole different thread).
Thanks for your input.
I recently chopped off all of my hair and am growing it bcak out sans chemical relaxers. Over the last couple of years, I've been getting pickier and pickier about what I put on and in my body, slowly going as organic (chemical free) as I can. I must admit I feel a lot healthier for it, though some things work better than others especially in relation to the usual store-bought items.
I do love Josie Maran products, though, so I may have to try hers...
Also, I put egg white with Milk on as a mask.
My skin is oily now with aging.
Tumeric is also wonderful.
Aloe is great.
Lots of things out there. I try different stuff.
Now if you find a powder that wont make my face oily let me know.
There were a bunch of people around here who were happy with it when I tried, I'm sure some will come around with some great advice.
I've done egg masks, honey mixtures, etc, but I'm looking for something as a daily cleanser.
@Crescita - I found an article for OCM that uses different ratios of castor oil to olive oil, based on your skin type (oily, dry, combo, or normal).
I remember reading about OCM here a while ago, but while it did tickle my interest, I never actually pulled the trigger.
I'm glad to hear that folks have had success with it!
Thanks again for sharing your experiences.
Gaby, good for you with the natural hair thing! I've been going back too, and while it's sometimes a fright, I'm just more comfortable with how it looks. It's MY fright, you know?
The texture of my hair is mostly European, but the back part, right above the nape, is thick and wiry, most likely from some North African genetic line or another. It was getting more and more difficult to blow dry some of the curls out, and I finally gave up. I went no-poo (I use Deva Curl products) in February and now I've got this wild head of Italian and Greek curls with tiny, tiny spirals in the very back.
I have to ask: is yours defying gravity? I didn't realize that as I let my hair grow out, everything would stand STRAIGHT UP instead of hang down. Now I roll with it, but at first I was freaked out.
I completely understand what you mean about being ok with YOUR fright. I've had relaxers (chemical hair straightener) since I was about 10yrs old until now. I am getting to know what my natural texture even LOOKS like, let alone how to care for it, hehehe. So far so good though. The older I get, the less I care what other people think of my appearance.
Its currently only about an inch long, so very easy to care for at the moment. A daily co-wash in the morning, a quick comb and out the door! Moisturize and cover for bedtime.
I'll catch up to you in no time, sporting some springy coils of my own!
I have my castor oil/EVOO mix made up and ready to roll for my facial cleanser. I can't wait to try it!

Off to mix up a batch!
I had dry and oily skin at the same time. Not typical combination. Like, oh that oily patch is also so dry it's flaking. Also, acne that was exacerbated during "my time".
My sister made up a batch of 50/50 olive oil to castor oil mix for me. I tried it and found it too drying. Now, I'm using probably close to 70/30 olive oil to castor oil. LOVE IT. I only wear make up during the school year, so this summer I'm finding that I don't even really need to use it every day. A splash of water in the morning and the evening, with the OCM every other day or every third day. During the school year I use it every day.
My acne has cleared up, my skin tone is brighter and better and I rarely need to use moisturizer any more.
IMO, it's great.
I absolutely love how soft my skin feels. I also love how moisturized my face feels - as in I dont get that 'cracked' sensation I usually get when my face has dried post shower but pre-moisturizing lotion.
It is now 7:30pm and I am not oily! Usually by noon, I have to go to the ladies' room and wash my face to remove that gunky feeling.
I'm still going strong 13+ hours later!
