And it's not a small one, either. This was all his idea. He has my name all across his upper arm in letters about 2" high!

We had an incredibly good time on our 5413 mile road trip vacation, too. My family likes him. I think this one's a keeper....

Well if he has "hit-by-a-train" two inches high tatooed on his arm that is one big bicep! LOL!

I'm firmly of the belief that the only names you should ever tattoo on your body are those of blood relatives.

But if you're happy, then I'm happy!

Wow! Did he surprise you with that or tell you he was going to do it?

I think it's an awesome commitment. One I could never do, ha!

How long have you been seeing each other? I don't want to sound like a party pooper here, but I hope you aren't thinking of doing the same....its SO permanent and sadly relationships just aren't. My ex and his wife got each other's names tattooed across their chest and they are still together 10 years later so who knows.

I just don't think I could take that risk.

But as NL says, you are happy then I'm happy for you. Hoping he's the one and only for you.

My daughter got her first husband's name in a tat on her
foot. My first response was "what?, are you a cow that needs to be branded???"

Needless to say, that tat was covered by an even uglier one, and now she's going through some painful laser removal.

That kind of tat is always a red flag to me. Sorry to be a party pooper, but.......my experience says that this is a bad idea. Now you're gonna feel like you need to keep him just because he has your name in 2" high letters on his arm. PLEASE don't follow his example!!!

click4it & exhausted lady......I have absolutely NO intention of getting a tattoo on me! He started talking about this while we were on vacation and then he followed through. He has been saying that he is "in it for the long haul", whether or not one of us gets sick. I commented when he first started talking about it that "a tattoo is pretty permanent", isn't it? And he came right back with "So is our relationship."

I would never stay in a relationship because he got my name tattoed if the relationship was wrong. But he and I are more compatible in many ways than I was with my late husband. And I am FINALLY with a man whose sex drive matches mine!

yeah......sperm donor was going to get my name tattooed on him TWICE during our dysfunctional relationship...once during and once while we were broken up and he was TRYING to win me back.....to no avail. I BEGGED him not to do it both times telling him that he would only regret it and knowing that we were not meant to last forever..... and would NOT!

He had our daughter's name tattooed on his arm....and then when he couldn't win me back....he covered it up and poofed. He hasn't willingly seen her since she was 4 months old. She will be 13 months old on September 3rd...

I am saddened to hear about some of your tattoo stories that didn't turnout well.

click4it, I'm wondering why you keep asking how long we've been together? We had been pretty good friends for 16 months, and then he told me he had feelings for me mid March of this year. Feelings progressed into love into relationship into significant other/living together status. So far, I haven't even seen a yellow flag.

hit - sorry I didn't meant to pester you, I just wondered if you had been together quite a while or just a few short months. If its just a few short months, I would be a little more skeptical about it.
