Im still traumatized by it. Robin Thicke should be ashamed for being a part of that mess! Not art!

She looked like a tweaker. She needs a reality check.

How she was behaving with Robin Thicke was beyond disturbing. No respect for herself or others. Just out to shock and out do lady weirdo! Sad

Robin Thicke should be ashamed for being a part of that mess!

Some reports are saying that what she did on the show was not what was rehearsed and that she "improvised" while on stage. I have no idea. I just know that what she did was just vulgar and classless.

Remember when Jamie Foxx said years ago that she would burn out and end up on a stripper pole? He caught hell for that. Wonder what he is thinking right now.

Sadly, the media types talking about how bad this is are the same ones making fun of Taylor Swift trying to stay squeaky clean. She still takes her mother to awards shows. Where the heck is Miley's mom?

Agree 100%.

And I'm not sure if this is true or not, but I read an article this morning saying that Billy Ray is on the board of the PTC )Parent Television Council) so you have to wonder what shit he's taking right about now.

I get the whole shock value that some celebrities do, but this wasn't shock...it was crude and obscene. IMHO.

Where the heck is Miley's mom?

She was in the audience watching and once Miley finished, her mom stood up to give her a standing ovation

Robin Thicke's mother said "Well, I'll never be able to unsee THAT!"

She's shamelessly promoting her next album which I believe launches next Tuesday.

The record label is thrilled with all the free publicity.

As to Mr. Thicke (and as much as I like him as a singer) - ever really read those lyrics?

Sorry, but way above disgusting for me.

AJ's MOM

Eh. I can't help but sing along when Blurred Lines comes on the radio, but I don't think RT is the epitome of class himself.

And I agree with AJ about the lyrics. They're kind of, er, rapey.

I would cut off some of my toes to look like the brunette in the video though.

ETA again - as far as class - if you watch the video, in several scenes "ROBIN THICK HAS A BIG D***" is written in huge letters in the background. I can't imagine Miley scarred him for life or anything.

DD and I were watching the vma's. When Miley started "dancing" she said, "I'm disappointed in her" and changed the channel.

Well said DD.

What she did was fairly tame compared to the uncensored video for blurred lines. Wow.

It's the teddy bears that disturbed me. The juxtposition of those innocent stuffed bears and what she was doing was bizarre and oh so wrong. And the foam finger??? OMG

I totally want to go as one of those Teddy Bears for this Halloween.

Just strap a big honking one to my back, and BAM! Done!

I wasn't offended by the performance...I just thought she looked like an idiot. And apparently Robin raided Beetlejuice's closet. Or robbed a Foot Locker. Not sure which.

Train. Wreck.

Don't you think it's sad when someone as young as Miley has to resort to such vulgar, tasteless performances to "get attention"?
I did not watch the VMA's, but sure heard about it first thing the next day on every source of media....so I guess in that respect she won out didn't she?
As for Robin Thicke, I feel sorry for his wife having to watch that sordid performance involving her husband....I'm sure she wasn't impressed either

movingforward, if she didn't have a problem with the video for the song, she wouldn't have had a problem with Miley's performance. I heard the video was her (his wife's) idea, but I'm not sure if that's true.

Robin Thicke's mother said "Well, I'll never be able to unsee THAT!"

That is exactly what I thought too!!

She looked like she was in a soft porn video. I mean, she was humping a foam finger

The whole thing was just ick

I agree - the entire thing was ICK!

Shame on you Hannah Montana!

Sure there are a lot of 'cross the line' performers out there, but she has a entire generation of girls watching her from her TV days. Like it or not, a certain level of responsibility goes with that.

Edited to take out the Taylor opinion....I shall stay focused on the subject of Miley.

I don't want to say what I thought of it as it probably violates the "no politics" rule... but think for a moment about what the teddy bears and simulated rimming could be construed as representing.

And I agree with AJ about the lyrics. They're kind of, er, rapey.
exactly.

I think most people have no idea what they are listening to. The song is disgusting. The video is disgusting. The whole world has become 'pornified', and stupid little fools like Miley don't even have clue what the lyrics mean.

I'll give you something big enough to tear your ass in two
Nice, real nice.

"Blurred Lines"
(feat. T.I. & Pharrell Williams)

[Intro: Pharrell]
Everybody get up
Everybody get up
Hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey

[Verse 1: Robin Thicke]
If you can't hear what I'm trying to say
If you can't read from the same page
Maybe I'm going deaf,
Maybe I'm going blind
Maybe I'm out of my mind
[Pharell:] Everybody get up

[Pre-chorus: Robin Thicke]
OK now he was close, tried to domesticate you
But you're an animal, baby, it's in your nature
Just let me liberate you
Hey, hey, hey
You don't need no papers
Hey, hey, hey
That man is not your maker

[Chorus: Robin Thicke]
And that's why I'm gon' take a good girl
I know you want it
I know you want it
I know you want it
You're a good girl
Can't let it get past me
You're far from plastic
Talk about getting blasted
I hate these blurred lines
I know you want it
I know you want it
I know you want it
But you're a good girl
The way you grab me
Must wanna get nasty
Go ahead, get at me
[Pharell:] Everybody get up

[Verse 2: Robin Thicke]
What do they make dreams for
When you got them jeans on
What do we need steam for
You the hottest bitch in this place
I feel so lucky
Hey, hey, hey
You wanna hug me
Hey, hey, hey
What rhymes with hug me?
Hey, hey, hey

[Pre-chorus: Robin Thicke]
OK now he was close, tried to domesticate you
But you're an animal, baby it's in your nature
Just let me liberate you
Hey, hey, hey
You don't need no papers
Hey, hey, hey
That man is not your maker
Hey, hey, hey

[Chorus: Robin Thicke]
And that's why I'm gon' take a good girl
I know you want it
I know you want it
I know you want it
You're a good girl
Can't let it get past me
You're far from plastic
Talk about getting blasted
[Pharell:] Everybody get up
I hate these blurred lines
I know you want it
I hate them lines
I know you want it
I hate them lines
I know you want it
But you're a good girl
The way you grab me
Must wanna get nasty
Go ahead, get at me

[Verse 3: T.I.]
One thing I ask of you
Let me be the one you back that ass to
Go, from Malibu, to Paris, boo
Yeah, I had a bitch, but she ain't bad as you
So hit me up when you passing through
I'll give you something big enough to tear your ass in two
Swag on, even when you dress casual
I mean it's almost unbearable
In a hundred years not dare, would I
Pull a Pharside let you pass me by
Nothing like your last guy, he too square for you
He don't smack that ass and pull your hair like that
So I just watch and wait for you to salute
But you didn't pick
Not many women can refuse this pimpin'
I'm a nice guy, but don't get it if you get with me

[Bridge: Robin Thicke]
Shake the vibe, get down, get up
Do it like it hurt, like it hurt
What you don't like work?

[Pre-chorus: Robin Thicke]
Baby can you breathe? I got this from Jamaica
It always works for me, Dakota to Decatur, uh huh
No more pretending
Hey, hey, hey
Cause now you winning
Hey, hey, hey
Here's our beginning

[Chorus: Robin Thicke]
I always wanted a good girl
(Pharell: Everybody get up)
I know you want it
I know you want it
I know you want it
You're a good girl
Can't let it get past me
You're far from plastic
Talk about getting blasted
I hate these blurred lines
(Pharell: Everybody get up)
I know you want it
I know you want it
I know you want it
But you're a good girl
The way you grab me
Must wanna get nasty
Go ahead, get at me

[Outro: Pharrell]
Everybody get up
Everybody get up
Hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey
