I guess I've moved past the shock, denial, anger and entered into sadness. I've just felt really melancholy the last few days. It seems to have hit me that sorry will never fix what has been broken. The best we can do is patch things and hope they stay together. I kept looking at the picture of the Japanese vase that is patched with gold and trying to convince myself that things can be more beautiful after they are repaired. But it is hard to see past the damage. I know this is just a part of the process. It seems like it happens at about 5 months and that's where we are ... at the mercy of time.

It will get better. Hang in there.
