Unfortunately, they have two dogs and I have two dogs. We each have one of each gender. The boy dogs have been great. They get along really well. The girls are another story. A few days after I moved in, my brother's girl dog bit the tip of the tail off of mine. They were fine after that until a couple of days ago when my brother's fiance gave them all rawhide bones. The girls got into a fight over them and they were taken away. The next day, my brother's fiance gave them back and there was another fight, although this one was more intense. I was bitten on the hand trying to pull them apart because my brother's dog had mine by the throat and she was trying to rip it out.
Since then, they have been fighting like crazy. Today, my dog was trying to go out into the yard, my brother's attacked her, flipped her onto her back and started wrenching on her underbelly. Now she can't put her full weight onto her back leg.
I was really hoping that living here would work out. It's in a nice place, and the rent is cheap. My trip to Italy this winter was planned around what I am paying to live here. I won't find another place for the same price.
I can't help but blaming the ex for all of this. If it weren't for her, I wouldn't be in this situation.
I'm not sure if my life will ever be good again. I hate her.

Now I have a job, albeit very low paying it keeps me busy, I live in my own place now (apartment), and I have a new gal in my life who I like a lot, and she treats me like a friggin king! Chin up bro, and believe me, if this guy can find a better life, so can you. I would have never believed it could be true a few months ago, but here I am... Stronger than ever, and actually feeling pretty happy most days.
I really don't hate my STBX, I feel nothing for her other than no respect, and seeing her for the lying, manipulative, narc POS she really is... MUCH better days are ahead friend, MUCH better!
The path to salvation is narrow, and as difficult to walk as the razor's edge
In the mean time, muzzle both the girl dogs. Get the kind that are like mesh that cover the muzzle but allow drinking. They can snarl and attempt to pick a fight with each other but can't bite - each other or a human.
And consult a dog trainer right away to find out what this means for your dog and her response to other dogs in the future. If another dog snarls at her it could trigger her defensively biting.
Separated, divorcing, moving on.
I edit because I always make typos.
I will be moving in with my Mom until I figure out plan B.
