Or so it seems!

What is with the rampant stupidity lately by Xs/STBXs?!

Allow me to add my contribution:

Financial settlement is nearing completion since he finally (only took 9 months) sent through his proposal. I noted that, amongst other things, it omitted my student loan. I added it in and responded.

My goodness, cue teenage angsty response full of delusional whothefuckknowswhat. He claims that we had agreed student loans were “personal investments”.

Wait, what! It has never been discussed buttercup. IDK, maybe its on the same memo about being free to date/fuck whoever we want in the relationship – I didn’t get that one.

I disclosed the loan during the process and that he chose to not include it in his proposal is outside of my control. Dick.

He has been informed on many occasions that FULL financial disclosure is required and claimed he has done so. Was very hurt when I sent him the Family Court statements about it. Gosh - how dare I accuse him of hiding things or lying.

Magically he now claims that he has a student loan and it is substantially larger than mine. Wait, do you mean that your parents paying for your tuition is now considered a loan. First I have heard of it in the last 17 years! The parents have paid for all their sons education. Not a single repayment ever required. Not going to stand up in court.

For the sake of $6K I am letting it go. Interesting to observe how he continues to think he is above the rules and has the power to decide what is to be declared or not. More fool the court for falsely believing they have a say or should be obeyed.

I am looking forward to chuckling when the documents arrive with his signature attesting to the truth of his statements.

Fact of life, liars lie.

The end

Ps- don’t even get me started on the ridiculousness of agreeing car values

You are right - 6k isn't worth it. But I still think it was good to put it on the table to show you've moved from
your position to achieve settlement.

Must be soooo tempting to request bank statements to prove he didn't pay uni fees. But it would cost you more time and money.

Officially a Douchebag. His parents must be so proud.

I may have reached a point where I'd piss on him if he was on fire.... eventually!!

Your atty can request financial documentation showing he had a loan through a third party. I don't think family "loans" are considered marital debt.

It was one of those moments when you go "Wow, really, lying again? How unsurprising"

I know he doesn't have a debt or a loan for student fees.

Just glad its almost over and I no longer have to live with it.

He would have to show not only documentation of the loan of the money but also documentation of loan payments, etc.

That would be funny.
