What is up with all the stink bugs? I personally don't like to kill anything--even a bug. But I am cheering my cats on. It is a losing battle.

I'm not sure where you are, but they've been in PA for a few years now. At times, it's like something out of a science fiction movie.

From what I understand, they are some invasive type that came from another country in a shipment of some kind? The birds & spiders don't find them tasty so they aren't "controlled" that way. My dog eats dead stink bugs, then throws up.

Good luck getting rid of them. A friend uses her Shop Vac to suck them up. Then she puts duct tape over the Shop Vac openings to keep the little buggers from crawling out.

They are trying to find a warm place for winter. I've found close to 40 of them when I open my gas thingy on my car.

When one door closes, another door opens. It's the journey through the hallway that sucks.

Stinkbugs aren't the issue here, we get a yearly late summer early fall invasion of lady bugs. They are drawn to sunshine, and white, my house faces south with white siding, you know what that means?
It's like a scifi movie out there when it's full force, then they make their way into the house through the tiniest of cracks. My H usually has to bring the extension ladder into the house, and climb up and vacumn them all out of the peak of the paladium window in out great room. blech.

If your window is made of palladium ($800/oz.) I suggest selling it and buying a nice island somewhere

LOL I wish. I sell that sucker, and board it over with plywood. Seal it with great stuff, and head off to someplace warm.

We catch them and throw them in a jar with water and some Dawn dish soap. It's a bit gross as the soapy water sorta dissolves their carapace, but it makes it easy to get rid of them. It's just a never ending battle.

You're lucky. My cats turn their noses up at them, so I'm on my own.
