I have been having a great time getting to know SO. We have spent a great deal of time together and my three young adult children know about me dating. All three are very supportive, however, my youngest DS is a lot like his father (my X). I keep thinking DS will use the information of me dating in some way when he gets angry.

As DS will get mad at X and vengefully tell him I am dating or get mad at me and tell X. I don't like my DS being a loaded gun so I thought I would remove the ammunition.

I had to call X to check on the pups and some money X still owes me. And it out of my mouth comes: " I just thought I let you know that I am dating pretty seriously and all three kids know ... I didn't want youngest DS to have this information to use against me or you so I just thought I would put it out there ... "

His response, "I guess this is the one of the times that I am glad I don't have any emotions ... I am happy that your so happy"

So long story short ... I feel so great and I am thankful for my new life! It is not about X's response it is all about being straight forward and honest. Yes it is none of his business but I feel like I just eliminated a "line of drama" from my life ... and it is so peaceful not to worry.

Great idea to just blurt it out! This information can't be used as ammunition now. The truth really does set you free!

I think I have figured out that with X's passive aggressive and narcissistic ways that our whole marriage was a game of drama, deceit and resentment and I love the fact of just being my true self, being true to myself, that I can suck the wind out of the sails of my past.
