So last night during the Red Sox game I got disgusted and stomped off to take a shower. I guess I wasn't paying attention but when I went to get out (sunken shower) I slipped and landed on my left shoulder with my left arm caught behind me.

This dislocated my shoulder out of the socket. I screamed bloody murder and fWS came running in. So there I am wet, naked and dislocated. FWS also being an MD grabbed my arm and relocated my humerus. I then tried to get up and put weight on the arm and it dislocated again. FWS got me up and was about to perform another maneuver when it popped back in on its own.

Oh My God that hurt. I missed work today but went up there to be x-rayed and examined by our sports medicine doc (who also works with our division I football players). I have a torn labrum (like the meniscus of the knee). I'm slinged, iced and on drugged. I'll be starting PT next week.

The problem with this injury is that people can start dislocating with very little stress on the joint (like Mel Gibson in Lethal Weapon). If that happens its major surgery, immobile shoulder for months. I do NOT want that.

So please wish me good mojo and healing. And give me strength to not kill these dogs who are acting out knowing I can't do anything about it. Little bastards.

Oh, and the worst part is I missed the 8th and 9th inning heroics of Big Papi and Salty. Damn It!!!

Ouch! Sorry about your shoulder, pj. My sister has a similar problem with her ankle. She can be just walking around and it'll dislocate.

Now, listen to your therapist, hear? I know you're a doctor but it's said doctors are the *worst* patients. Don't be cliche, alright? In this case *you* are the patient. Be the kind *you* would want.

Sending healing mojo. Hope you feel better soon.
