My poor best friend went to the annual health screening this morning at her job and the admin at the registration table told her, "While you are waiting, you have time to go talk to the ladies at the weight watchers table!"

Really??!!!! My best friend is a "little" overweight but by NO MEANS obese...maybe 169 at 5 foot 9 and wears a size 10/12 or something! So, close to my build at 5 foot 6 and 150 pounds!

I would have said, either:

A. "How's it working for you?" (cause apparently this lady was bigger than my best friend)

OR

B. "I'm sorry. I can't do that because it would conflict with my 2nd job working as a professional eater and sumo wrestler on the weekends."

Well at least they didn't offer her an apple, and vegan recipes. That's what they had at ours last year.

REally Aholes? It's mid day, I haven't eaten since 5pm yesterday, and you are going to give me a shitty mushy red apple, and tell me not to eat meat? Nope this bitch is heading the cafeteria for some Bacon, and gravy.

Well, I have genetically high cholesterol that I fight with diet and exercise. I'm a runner.....and my "good cholesterol" is 82..which is over twice what they require you to have (most people have 40 and if you have below 40 that's bad!). The running is what brings up my good cholesterol so high! BUT....my total cholesterol is like 192 now....very close to 200... but they never put me on meds because I'm so healthy....and because my high "good cholesterol" number kinda distorts the overall picture!

I'm just fighting against genetics!

She probably gets a kickback for referring people and didn't even consider if your friend was heavy or not.

ok, let's say that is true. How about- "since the line is running a little slow right now- are there any other tables that you are planning to visit today?"

I see that as a big difference. I am probably close to Shellybeanz friends size/proportions. I have been on meds that have caused me to gain better than 30 lbs in a year. I eat between 1000 and 1200 calories per day and excercise regularly. I would have found a comment like that hurtful even if I logically know what the truth is.

Me too....when I was 17, I was 240 pounds...and was obese my entire childhood! I worked hard to turn my life around with diet and exercise but I am still an "average" size and wear a size 10 and am around 150 pounds. I will never be super skinny... but I am still my biggest critic! This comment would have really given me a complex!
