I fixed my dishwasher!

I had the whole thing taken apart. I had to replace three screws around the pump that must have come loose, the pump seal and the latch that closes the soap dispenser door shut. To replace the latch I had to take the door apart and pull off other parts to get to it. It's all back together.

Now it's running so much better and it's more quiet. I love it!!

I should have taken pictures

I kick ass!

Good job! You unplugged it first, right?

Great Job!!!

As a woman who was raised to never rely on a man for anything, and grew up in a home that was 80 years old and rehabbed by us, I know how to fix lots of stuff, and when I get tired of waiting on H to do it, and do it myself, I am always proud, and he gets sooooo aggravated. He likes to be needed, but hey a girl can only live so long without a dishwasher, dryer, or working doorknobs (just a few things I fixed on my own).

Congrats.

woohoo! you go!

I repaired our washing machine one time when the water pump leaked. hubby was going to call the Sears repairman . I told him "no, I repair patient care equipment for a living... we are NOT calling a repairman! surely I can fix a dang washing machine!"

Nicely done!

I fixed the switch on our old dishwasher, and at first I didn't unplug it. What happened next was... shocking!

Feels good to save yourself some cash, doesn't it? You should treat yourself to something nice with the money that you saved.

Dreamboat & Rebreather...have tools, will travel

I wish I could Losfer. Unfortunately, accounts don't work that way in my family.

TN, that was how my mom raised me... to be self sufficient. I grew up watching my grandfather fix things that needed it, but throwing it out and get a new one. I think part of that bothers my husband, I'm too independent with most things. It took him 12 years to fix a door. The the end I did it myself. I was so mad that he didn't eat dinner with us.

Celticlass, that sounds good to me.

Thanks DS. I have a saying - If it was put together, it can come apart. If it can come apart, I can fix it. (Or die trying)

Thanks for all the wonderful pays everyone

That is great! Amazing how we CAN do things even if we ponder on it, put it off ... and then we just do it!

I had orders from my home-owner's insurance company to cut down a tree that was growing too close to my roof. The price for getting it cut down was over the moon! So I pondered, looked at it, surmised, worried. Then I found the chain saw in the garage and just sawed on it a little at a time. It took me a few days. While it wasn't a huge tree, it was no sapling! I was SO proud of myself when it fell and it was great that it fell in the right direction too. Now I am sawing on it a little at a time where it lies, cutting logs for the fireplace. After it's stacked for a year and seasoned, it will be great!

See? We CAN do things!

I *fixed* my oven door once... all by myself... then I had to call the repair man cause I *fixed* it good!

My tool box contains two things....WD40 and Duct tape...if it's supposed to move and it doesn't you use the WD40....if it's not supposed to move and does you use the Duct tape!!!
Just kidding...I can usually figure things out...but I do have a SO that is amazing at that stuff...
