I can hardly believe it, but there are essentially only 2 months left in 2013!!!

I think I did something like this last year around this time as well on this forum, and it was fun. I'll try to remember to bump it occasionally and to start a 2014 one in early December. (I am super goal-oriented!)

So...what do you hope to accomplish during the rest of the year/what have you accomplished this year?

1. I met my books read goal for the year, so I have the luxury of reading some more involved/longer books. I will finish "100 Years of Solitude" by Marquez before the end of the year.

2. A sprained ankle in May threatened to derail my miles run goal for the year, but I was able to get to where I needed to be by 9/30. I've slacked off a bit in October, so my goal for the rest of the year is to pick it up in November and December and finish the year having run at least 2013 miles.

3. Take a fun picture of the parrots, order Christmas cards, and get them sent out to everyone early enough so they have my new address.

4. Bake Christmas cookies with my mom.

5. Decide which color to paint my bedroom. Have it painted by the end of 1Q14 (4Q13 would be better, but perhaps not likely.)

6. Get my desk at work completely cleaned off and everything filed away.

7. I have contracted with a landscaping company to fix up my yard as well as a snow removal company so I don't have to worry about that, either. (I procrastinated on this one for a bit!)

8. Go to as many basketball games with my dad as he can. I don't ever want to be the one backing out of one (they're on my calendar already!)

9. Finish knitting this sparkly silver scarf I have started.

10. Start blogging again -- at least 5 entries/month in November and December.

1. Finish our basement. This house is going on the market next year and it needs to get done.

2. Pick out a house plan for our new house. yikes...way harder than it sounds.

3. Organize our paperwork. It is amazing how much we have generated in the 2 years that we have been here.

4. Thin out our tools. We seriously do not need 5 circular saws.

5. Try some more creative dinner ideas. I love to cook but tend to cook the same things every week.

Survive my new job, getting my new staff to trust and want to work for me.

Hopefully get together with DS & DIL at my sister's for an early Thanksgiving.

Start some baby projects (sewing and knitting)

Get in a few hikes and birding outings before the weather gets too bad.

Volunteer with a the bird clubs that I've joined.

Thinking of volunteering at a local animal shelter; I'm free over the holidays, so they might need my help?

Continue looking for a business opportunity that I can run by myself.

I promise to surround myself with amazing souls and love them fiercely.

I'm with Sazzy. My 1st goal for the next few months is to survive my new job.

I also need to work on getting my house clean. I've let it get too cluttered, and it's driving me nuts.

Start exercising again. I completely blew it off during October.

Work on my 2014 budget, now that I'll have a higher salary.

Do some serious yard cleanup in the back yard. Remember to fertilize/winterize the front yard this year.

There's an e-recycle event nearby in the middle of November. So I need to gather all the old electronics from around the house and garage, so I can drop them off.

great idea!

1. Finish article

2. Enjoy my birthday

3. Get back into exercise routine

4. See a certain museum exhibit

5. get SI card exchange cards out on time

6. Get chair to upholsterer

My real-life to do has many items on it, but this certainly helps me think about what I REALLY want to do!

1. Get my spare room cleaned out.

2. Donate at least 2 bags of clothes to the Salvation Army.

3. Wipe down my ceilings.

How's everyone doing? (And join in if you want to but haven't already!)

I'm doing OK -- have not started "100 Years of Solitude" yet, so I'd better get going!

Looks like I have about a 90% chance of meeting my miles run goal for the year.

Really need to get going on ordering my Christmas cards!

I did bake cookies with my mom, have gone so far to every basketball game with my dad, finished knitting the sparkly scarf, and have been actively blogging in November.

Painting my bedroom is definitely a 2014 goal now.

I also really need to get to the eye doctor since I have eye insurance through work for 2013 and didn't take it for next year.

This year is just flying by!!!

Right now, my biggest goals are just survival. Anything extra that gets accomplished is just icing......

So far mostly all I've managed to do on my list is take the crap to the recycling event. I'm still working on surviving my new job. It's not hard, but it is dull. And I'm still feeling like the outsider/new kid on the block, which kinda sucks. I don't think it's anything personal, it's just the general atmosphere there, if that makes sense.

I did start cleaning the house this weekend, not because it was on my list, but because I've got people coming for Thanksgiving. And that's usually what it takes for me to make the major cleaning effort.

Still haven't started exercising again, except I'm walking farther from my car to the office at the new job. And I haven't looked at my 2014 budget at all.

The only parts I haven't accomplished are the volunteering and finding a business opportunity.

My job has been pretty consuming, so I'm afraid to volunteer for something, then not be able to keep my commitment. I'm going to defer that till next year.

As far as finding a business opportunity, I guess that was a more long-term commitment Actually, I have an idea but not the finances to do anything. Oh well...

Two weeks left and I have been slacking -- had other books to read, so the Marquez will probably have to wait.

I have my cards and just need to send them out.

I can't believe this year is almost over!

Still time for other people to join in!!!

I hit my 2013th mile run this morning. Am not doing this goal again. Too much pressure!

It might be years until I can read the Marquez book. The Colombian guy I was dating earlier this year resurfaced and I don't think I want to even go there at this point.

I need to get more motivated for next year...about to put on Breaking Bad and paint a (late) Christmas present for a friend.

Hmmmm...my motivation for 2014 is to finally make my trip to Hawaii. Hitting the big 60 this year; I need to do this!
